We’re rounding out the defense here at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. We have notes completed for the defensive line, edge rushers, and linebackers. It’s time to transition to the secondary with the cornerbacks.
We had a bunch of opt-outs here but don’t worry… we have plenty to talk about. If you’re new here, let me catch you up. The rest of the mainstream media sucks. The secret to all victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious. Knee bend matters, 40-times often times do not. I’m looking for how each player moves in space and how that transitions to the NFL. Any other method in terms of evaluating these players is the wrong one.
Without further ado… here are your 2025 NFL Scouting Combine notes on the cornerbacks!
BJ Adams (UCF)
Measurables: Height (6-2), Weight (182), Arm Length (31 3/4), Wingspan (76 1/2), Hand (8 3/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.53), 10-Yard Split (1.6), Vertical Jump (32.5), Broad Jump (9’9″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Ran but no on field. Was pretty clear his UCF teammate McWilliams was the better player at the Senior Bowl too.
Zy Alexander (LSU)
Measurables: Height (6-1 3/8), Weight (187), Arm Length (31), Wingspan (77 1/2), Hand (9 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.56), 10-Yard Split (1.53), Vertical Jump (31.5), Broad Jump (9’8″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Needs to get lower. Non-chalent energy. Too loose spinning. Staying on the line well. Nothing stands out as a negative. Overall solid. Needs to be lower. Feet good on the box drill. Was at the East-West game but everyone was scared to throw to his side of the ball in team period. Looks like a real capable player but not one of these super elite Stingley’s coming out of LSU.
Trey Amos (Mississippi)
Measurables: Height (6-0 3/4), Weight (195), Arm Length (31 1/4), Wingspan (77 3/4), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.43), 10-Yard Split (1.6), Vertical Jump (32.5), Broad Jump (10’6″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (19)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 6, Week 11, Gator Bowl, Senior Bowl (1), (2)
Big winner. Speed checked out. Base is a bit too narrow. Hips could use work. Good in and out of breaks. Good job keeping the feet churning. Not hitches in the step. Chain mover. Great job in the box drill. Feet don’t get stuck. Nice gauntlet. 19 on the bench is really good for a corner too. This is a dude. Used to be a Bama and Saban loved him. Confident and in control. I’m a big fan and it doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that he has the same name as me. Huge winner at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
Jahdae Barron (Texas)
Measurables: Height (5-10 3/4), Weight (194), Arm Length (29 5/8), Wingspan (73 1/2), Hand (9 1/2)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.39), 10-Yard Split (1.5), Vertical Jump (35), Broad Jump (10’3″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl
Really nice time for a player I don’t view as an outside corner. Did not workout after running. Short arms. Looked like a safety to me during the season. Not a shot he’s an elite outside corner. Maybe a nickel corner if you want to use him that way. No on field so nothing else really to discuss. Solid run time but that’s all we got to talk about.
Cobee Bryant (Kansas)
Measurables: Height (6-10), Weight (180), Arm Length (31 1/4), Wingspan (77), Hand (9 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.53), 10-Yard Split (1.56), Vertical Jump (N/A), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: East-West (2), (4)
Arms out of control. Long but has reckless nature in movement. I know he’s gritty but the arms are all over the place. It’s like he’s trying Kung Fu but failing at it. If you took random screenshots during his reps you would laugh at how out of place he is. Not bending well enough in the lower half. Too outside the hash normally to the right. Can’t open up. Too long to get going. Been a disaster the whole day. Can high point well. Pauses on certain start stops. Arms also look like a long pringle can. Gritty but no real play strength. Inflatable tube man vibes.
Denzel Burke (Ohio State)
Measurables: Height (5-11 1/4), Weight (186), Arm Length (31 3/8), Wingspan (77 1/8), Hand (8 3/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.48), 10-Yard Split (1.5), Vertical Jump (N/A), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 7, Week 10, Week 13, Week 14, College Football Playoff First Round, Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, National Championship
In sync. Nice knee bend. Smooth. Checking the boxes. Good player. Not a burning but his reps are good. Play speed more than good enough. Just solid. Nothing else to say. Looks like a stud. Maybe not top of food chain in terms of past Ohio State CBs we’ve seen before but not far off.
Mello Dotson (Kansas)
Measurables: Height (6-0 5/8), Weight (192), Arm Length (31 1/2), Wingspan (77 7/8), Hand (8 1/2)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.59), 10-Yard Split (1.53), Vertical Jump (34.5), Broad Jump (10’3″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Came out of the gates slow as hell in the 40. First step not good. Slow feet. Not staying on the line. Play speed not nearly good enough to be swerving like this. Looks like a waste of time. Takes forever doing anything. Not a guy.
O’Donnell Fortune (South Carolina)
Measurables: Height (6-0 3/4), Weight (185), Arm Length (31 1/2), Wingspan (76 7/8), Hand (9 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (N/A), 10-Yard Split (N/A), Vertical Jump (32.5), Broad Jump (9’9″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 3, Week 7, Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, East-West (4), Game
Did not run. T steps to turn. Not terrible. Short area not good enough. Takes tick too long to react. Mostly fine. Coaches yelling at him not staying low well enough. Needs more tempo in short area.
Zah Frazier (UTSA)
Measurables: Height (6-2 7/8), Weight (186), Arm Length (32 7/8), Wingspan (80 1/8), Hand (8 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.36), 10-Yard Split (1.51), Vertical Jump (36.5), Broad Jump (10’6″), 3-Cone (7), 20-Yard Shuffle (4.26), Bench (N/A)
Not slow. Not chain mover. Focus drops. Knee bend not ideal. Not bending well enough. Back bender. Starts the rep looking like he wants to get pegged. Staying on the line alright but play speed not same as 40. Turns to go get the ball stink. Bend stinks. Zero short area zoom. Too leggy and no compact.
Maxwell Hairston (Kentucky)
Measurables: Height (5-11 1/4), Weight (183), Arm Length (31), Wingspan (76 7/8), Hand (-)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.28), 10-Yard Split (1.5), Vertical Jump (39.5), Broad Jump (10’9″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), (2), (3)
Fast. Really fast. Extra gear is noticeable in the play speed. Looks easy moving around. Nice job picking feet off ground and level changing. Gliding easy. Could be a tick lower but looks easy and zooming to the spot. Eye level there. Could go faster but doesn’t need to. In control. Dude can play. No question. Feels like he can move faster and once the ball comes he zooms. Hands in rhythm moving. Very good day.
The best cornerback workout at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine probably goes to Hairston. Ransaw, McWilliams, Longerbeam, and Amos honorable mentions.
Jordan Hancock (Ohio State)
Measurables: Height (6-0 1/8), Weight (195), Arm Length (30 3/4), Wingspan (76 1/8), Hand (8 5/8)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Cotton Bowl
Did not run. Not smooth in the turns. Turning head not body. Stepping outside the hash on the back pedal. Hip turns not there. Temped to call him meh but he’s fine?
Jermari Harris (Iowa)
Measurables: Height (6-0 1/2), Weight (191), Arm Length (31 3/8), Wingspan (76), Hand (9 3/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (N/A), 10-Yard Split (N/A), Vertical Jump (37), Broad Jump (10’0″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Did not run. Back bender. Eyes on the ground. Slow motion. Looks like a turd. Feet don’t cover any ground. Bad hands catcher. Zero instincts. Didn’t even throw him the ball on a rep from trying to guess. Making him redo a drill for sucking at the back of the line. Seems like every ball thrown to him hits the ground. Stinky trash. Can’t see how this works.
Marcus Harris (Cal)
Measurables: Height (5-10 3/4), Weight (189), Arm Length (29 3/4), Wingspan (75), Hand (8 7/8)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.45), 10-Yard Split (1.52), Vertical Jump (N/A), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Ran but no on field. Running is apparently the only thing he did. Thought Nohl Williams was better than him at the East-West and has surpassed him. We’ll get there later.
Tommi Hill (Nebraska)
Measurables: Height (6-0 1/2), Weight (213), Arm Length (32 7/8), Wingspan (79 1/2), Hand (9)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 2, Week 4, Week 8, Senior Bowl (2), (3)
Did not workout in any aspect. Looked like he kinda tweaked something at the Senior Bowl. Hopefully, not related but didn’t see anything news related on it so going to stay away from guessing. Did like the player during the year though.
Travis Hunter (Colorado)
Measurables: Height (6-0 3/8), Weight (188), Arm Length (31 3/8), Wingspan (76 7/8), Hand (9 1/8)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 2, Week 3, Week 5, Week 7, Week 8, Week 14, Alamo Bowl
Did not workout. Do not care. When you’re Ohtani, I don’t need to see more.
Alijah Huzzie (North Carolina)
Measurables: Height (5-9 3/4), Weight (193), Arm Length (29 5/8), Wingspan (72 5/8), Hand (8 5/8)
NFL Draft Stock Report: East-West (1)
Did not workout. No testing of any kind. Had some moments at the East-West. Not sure what the deal is but mistake if he was healthy.
Will Johnson (Michigan)
Measurables: Height (6-1 3/4), Weight (194), Arm Length (30 1/8), Wingspan (75 7/8), Hand (9 1/8)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 2, Week 4
Did not workout. No testing of any kind.
Bilhal Kone (Western Michigan)
Measurables: Height (6-1 1/4), Weight (190), Arm Length (30 7/8), Wingspan (75 1/4), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.43), 10-Yard Split (1.54), Vertical Jump (31.5), Broad Jump (10’4″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Not staying low well enough. Gliding to the side of the hash marks instead of staying straight. Needs to keep ass down better. Trying to use hands well. Tight hipped. Not even lining up to start the rep on the has. Easy way to try to cheat. He knows his body is off balance and shifts to a certain side going backward. Knee bend far from elite. Swinging arms to turn rather than trusting lower half. It’s so obvious. Hands need work. Yelled at by coaches not staying low enough. Bad catcher. It’s a crib thing. He’s not it. Sorry but it is what it is.
Robert Longerbeam (Rutgers)
Measurables: Height (5-11), Weight (175), Arm Length (31 1/2), Wingspan (76 1/2), Hand (8 1/2)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.39), 10-Yard Split (1.5), Vertical Jump (36.5), Broad Jump (11’2″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Rate Bowl, East-West (2), (3), (4)
Nice run time. Looks long. Kinda out of control but it’s more of passing without being smooth. Feet need to cover more ground. Not tight in the spin. Staying on the line ok. Has some giddy up tracking. Long strides. At least covers to a spot.
Jason Marshall Jr. (Florida)
Measurables: Height (6-0 3/8), Weight (194), Arm Length (30 1/4), Wingspan (75/ 58), Hand (9 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.49), 10-Yard Split (1.55), Vertical Jump (37.5), Broad Jump (10’5″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Ran but no on field. Goofy ass shoes that didn’t match. If you’re going to try to be cool, show it on the field, you coward. Not much else to say.
Mac McWilliams (UCF)
Measurables: Height (5-10 1/4), Weight (191), Arm Length (29 7/8), Wingspan (72 5/8), Hand (8 3/8)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.41), 10-Yard Split (1.52), Vertical Jump (34), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (3), Game
Definitely the better UCF guy. Nice feet. Overall pretty good. Staying on the line. Like this player a lot. Still images of him going backward are nice. Shifting the hips nice. In control and the feet are carrying the load. Stop starts are good. Has some zoom to him. Eyes are good. Can change with good reaction time. Very smooth and in control. He’s just about how each drill should look like. Definitely a player growing on me.
Benjamin Morrison (Notre Dame)
Measurables: Height (6-0 1/4), Weight (193), Arm Length (30 3/8), Wingspan (75 7/8), Hand (9 1/4)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 8
Did not workout. Has been previously hurt.
Jabbar Muhammad (Oregon)
Measurables: Height (5-9 1/8), Weight (182), Arm Length (-), Wingspan (-), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (N/A), 10-Yard Split (N/A), Vertical Jump (29.5), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (7.01), 20-Yard Shuffle (4.19), Bench (13)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 6, Week 7, Week 10, Rose Bowl
Back bender. Narrow base tripping over his feet. Causing him to go outside the hash. Not even close to staying straight. Swerving all over the place. Did not run. Can see obvious limitations. All over the place. Looks like someone took a baseball bat and hit him in the back six times. Tracking the ball alright. Hands are his best thing. Gets more compact once he’s in a sprint. Looks way better when he can jump a route.
Jacob Parrish (Kansas State)
Measurables: Height (5-9 3/4), Weight (191), Arm Length (30 7/8), Wingspan (75 7/8), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.35), 10-Yard Split (1.51), Vertical Jump (37.5), Broad Jump (10’9″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (12)
Ran but no on field. Obviously, ran fast. Again, anyone who thinks you win the Combine by running fast is uneducated. It’s cool but there’s nothing else to dig into so we’ll keep it moving.
Darien Porter (Iowa State)
Measurables: Height (6-3), Weight (195), Arm Length (33 1/4), Wingspan (79 3/8), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.3), 10-Yard Split (1.49), Vertical Jump (36.5), Broad Jump (10’11”), 3-Cone (6.71), 20-Yard Shuffle (4.04), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Conference Championships, Senior Bowl (1), (2)
Didn’t see that 40 coming. Way too high. Knee bend is trash. It’s so bad I’m convinced he’s trolling. Turning corners and changing direction is rough. Too loose around turns. No idea what he’s doing. No shot this works in the league. Not on the line. Feet are hitting each other. Can’t bend at all. Long but trashy. Had some bad reads tracking. Short area is egregiously bad. Eyes are bad. Quicksand on the plant foot. Makes sense he’s a converted wide receiver. Still mooing from being that raw. I’m quite sure someone will look at his athletic testing numbers and take him way too high only wondering why he sucks later. I’m quite sure that’s coming. I’d argue he was one of the worst on field performers at the entire 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
Caleb Ransaw (Tulane)
Measurables: Height (5-11 3/8), Weight (197), Arm Length (30 3/4), Wingspan (75 5/8), Hand (9 3/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.33), 10-Yard Split (1.52), Vertical Jump (40), Broad Jump (10’9″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (16)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (3), Game
I think he’s a safety but that 40 was really nice. Good job staying low. Sweet feet and bend. Not perfect staying straight but one of the more compact reps here in this group. Nice stuff. Eyes are good. Good turns. Every rep is a good one. I’m becoming a believer on this one.
Shavon Revel Jr. (East Carolina)
Measurables: Height (6-1 7/8), Weight (194), Arm Length (32 5/8), Wingspan (79 3/4), Hand (9 5/8)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 3
Did not workout. Tore ACL. Really good player.
Quincy Riley (Louisville)
Measurables: Height (5-10 1/2), Weight (194), Arm Length (31), Wingspan (75), Hand (8 1/2)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.48), 10-Yard Split (1.54), Vertical Jump (N/A), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), (2)
Not bad staying low. Not covering a ton of ground but passable. Turns not ideal. Hips need more fluidity. Catching the ball well. Not a crazy mover. Feet are fine but not elite. Like him. Not sure how much.
Jaylin Smith (USC)
Measurables: Height (5-10 1/2), Weight (187), Arm Length (29 7/8), Wingspan (75 1/4), Hand (9 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.45), 10-Yard Split (1.6), Vertical Jump (32.5), Broad Jump (10’2″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
He’s there. Lots of meh. Trying to guess drill. Doesn’t look like a real corner. Some stumbling on the change of direction.
Upton Stout (Western Kentucky)
Measurables: Height (5-8 1/2), Weight (181), Arm Length (30), Wingspan (74 3/8), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.44), 10-Yard Split (1.51), Vertical Jump (37.5), Broad Jump (10’8″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (4.29), Bench (21)
Not bad foot speed. Going backward was a plus. Feet narrow and could bend better. Tight hips. Passing but not crazy. Missing something. Jittery.
Dorian Strong (Virginia Tech)
Measurables: Height (6-1), Weight (195), Arm Length (30 7/8), Wingspan (76 1/8), Hand (9 1/4)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.5), 10-Yard Split (1.55), Vertical Jump (36), Broad Jump (9’8″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (15)
Too high. Not staying straight. Play speed isn’t there. Slow and too high. As the kids say… not it. Bad drop tracking.
Azareye’h Thomas (Florida State)
Measurables: Height (6-1 1/2), Weight (197), Arm Length (32 3/8), Wingspan (78), Hand (10)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (N/A), 10-Yard Split (N/A), Vertical Jump (N/A), Broad Jump (10’2″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), (2), (3)
Did not run. Feet way too narrow. Back bender. Eyes not ideal. Churning feet well. Focus drop. Hands in line nicely. Staying straight. Can’t stay on the line. Clip below shows drifting cheese. Turning ok. Can’t stay on the line to save his life. Overrated cheese. Not impressed at all. Reaction time average. Using hand to plant on the ground to save a rep.
Justin Walley (Minnesota)
Measurables: Height (5-10 1/8), Weight (190), Arm Length (30 3/4), Wingspan (74 7/8), Hand (10)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.40), 10-Yard Split (1.52), Vertical Jump (N/A), Broad Jump (N/A), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Ran but no on field.
Isas Waxter (Villanova)
Measurables: Height (6-1 1/4), Weight (209), Arm Length (31 3/4), Wingspan (78 1/8), Hand (9 1/2)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.56), 10-Yard Split (1.53), Vertical Jump (35), Broad Jump (10’4″), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (N/A)
Ran and jumped but no on field.
Nohl Williams (Cal)
Measurables: Height (6-0 3/8), Weight (199), Arm Length (30 3/4), Wingspan (75 1/2), Hand (9)
Athletic Testing: 40-Yard Dash (4.5), 10-Yard Split (1.54), Vertical Jump (33.5), Broad Jump (10′), 3-Cone (N/A), 20-Yard Shuffle (N/A), Bench (19)
NFL Draft Stock Report: East-West (1), (2), Game
Decent bend. Not staying on the line but kinda fluid. Not opening the hips well enough. Can change direction alright. Pretty solid overall. Looks natural tracking the ball. Definitely belongs. No issues catching the ball. Can explode off the foot to a spot. Sweet bench numbers. Had some ball production. Worth investigating further.
