I thought about going on a rant about the college football playoff to kick things off with the 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report today. I’m just not sure it’s worth my time. You’re an idiot if you don’t think the SEC deserves AT LEAST five teams. The bigger issue is an absence of leadership within the sport. Until that changes, college football will continue to serve as a pipeline to the NFL level just like minor league baseball does. It provides zero entertainment beyond that. Which is a shame because the sport itself should be king as a stand alone but they’re not smart enough to figure that part out while Conferences act on selfish greedy principles that give us the product we have today.
Anyway… for Week 13 of the 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report, we have a pretty decent slate for you today.
The 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report notes for Week 13 include – Indiana vs. Ohio State, Ole Miss vs. Florida, Penn State vs. Minnesota, BYU vs. Arizona State, Alabama vs. Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt vs. LSU.
Indiana
Kurtis Rourke is the best quarterback in the game and it’s not close. Throw your numbers out the window. They’re irrelevant. You do get that Indiana is essentially James Madison, right? The talent disparity in this game is outrageous. If you swapped quarterbacks, I promise you Ohio State wins by more. If you can’t see that you have no idea what you’re watching. Ohio State has about 35 more blue chip players than Indiana. That’s real.
No, it wasn’t great. 8/18 for 68 yards is ugly. The first couple drives of the game where really good. Hung in the pocket and made some big throws to move the sticks. It just went downhill fast once the game script went out the window. The biggest problem is he lacks mobility and the Ohio State pass rush was too much to handle. Those guys wrecked the game. Five sacks by that unit. You could have put Mahomes back there and he wasn’t winning that game with the way the rush was coming.
There really isn’t much to add here on the Indiana front. No, they shouldn’t be in the playoff. Elijah Sarratt had three receptions for 40 yards. D’Angelo Ponds made some key pass deflections. Even one on Jeremiah Smith that was impressive. Mikail Kamara was held pretty much in check. Was hoping to see him pick up more pressures but that didn’t really happen.
Ohio State
Third down. Will Howard sucks but third down is the only talking point you need to back up that obvious statement. I want you to think about something. Will Howard was 22/26 and Ohio State was only 4/11 on third down. By the way, running backs converted three out of the four successful third downs.
The pick in the second quarter wasn’t necessarily his fault but does it really matter? He’s not an NFL player. He’s got literally five weapons who are first or second round players. He’s more mature but less talented Will Levis. Not draftable. Get mad all you want but it’s the truth.
17 penalties over the last two years for Davison Igbinosun. He’s like a creepy guy at the bar who is a bit too handsy. He’s going to get flagged at the NFL level and you’re going to have to accept it. Got hit with another PI the first time he was targeted. Gets flagged again in the red zone on the same drive to open the game. The flags maybe were iffy but there’s no question we understand his play style now. Indiana attacked him constantly. Clearly they felt that was the way to go over Denzel Burke. Had one pass break up but he had quadruple the amount of flags called against him. Still like the player but that stuff needs to be cleaned up.
Gee Scott is for sure not the blocker that Cade Stover was. Doesn’t appear to be a talented pass catcher either. Looks like a CFL player.
I mentioned this a bit earlier how the Ohio State rush wrecked the game. Got no problem turning the card in for JT Tuimoloau. Jack Sawyer is starting to get those Sam Hubbard vibes and may even be better. The best overall player on the defense is Caleb Downs, who returned a punt for a touchdown, but you will have to wait another year for him. One thing I’ll add though is that the starting defensive line is playing way too many snaps. They don’t have trustworthy guys that are rotating in. I think that’s something to monitor. Playing a lot of snaps and probably could be even more effective if they had capable bodies rotating in. I say that because a guy like Tyleik Williams may be turned loose more on those pass rushing situations.
Indiana came into the game as one of the better teams at stopping the run. I’ve been leaning this way for some period of time. You probably picked up on that in recent weeks. It may be time to declare it though.
We have the unique opportunity to watch two of the better backs in the class on the same team. Same line – same everything. TreVeyon Henderson continues to just look like the more explosive player over Quinshon Judkins. Except Judkins is being used as the starter. Nine carries for 68 yards and a score for Henderson. 14 carries for 36 yards for Judkins. Maybe it’s not an accident that one guy is a five star and the other is a three star. You can figure out the rest. Again, I love Judkins but I think you’re crazy if you’re just ignoring the ceiling of what Henderson can become.
Really good game for Emeka Egbuka. Seven receptions for 80 yards and a score. I think two things can be true with Ebguka. He looks like a slightly worse version of Smith-Njigba and he’s also the third best receiver on his own team. Sorry but it’s what I see.
Ole Miss
Tre Harris returns this week. Well, did for about half the game. Somehow he still leads the SEC in receiving yards despite missing three plus weeks and being hampered for a lot of the season. I think that says a lot. He’s far more polished than Jonathan Mingo. They sure needed him back in this one. Caught a nice deep ball in this one. Routes routes well. Has strong hands and contact balance. Then he got hurt again by what looked like a groin on a catch in the second quarter. He did not return after the reaggregation of the groin. Not a Hall of Famer but feel confident saying this will be a good football player.
Juice Wells just isn’t nearly as good. Had some opportunities but couldn’t finish them. I’m not impressed at all when I watch him. Has struggled staying healthy in the past. I’d argue he should change his name because Juice is what he lacks. One catch for 25 yards and was targetted a bunch especially when Harris left the game. Just looks zapped in the lower half. Not a fan.
Do people actually like Jaxson Dart? I don’t pay attention to other NFL Draft people. I just don’t know how people don’t see how flawed he is. It’s like watching Cody Kessler mixed with Daniel Jones. Dart may even be a supped up version of that combination. I just don’t know how anyone thinks – yeah, this is my next franchise QB. No way.
You and I both see the signs. His best play is a QB draw. Sneaky good athlete with plus foot speed. His best throws are down the field when guys are schemed open. His deep balls aren’t bad at all. In terms of executing an actual dropback pass game? Hard pass. No chance. Too many times where he can’t execute a throw and runs into a sack trying to get into a draw instead. Doesn’t have special arm talent. Not overly big. The pick at the end of the game defines who he is. He’s just chucking prayer balls. This pick into triple coverage was gross in a bad way. Should have thrown another pick to really seal the game that was never close to the target. Don’t worry, he threw another pick anyway after the DB bailed him out. His pure accuracy stinks as it is.
Let’s make one thing clear. I’m not just saying this because Ole Miss lost. Which they should have probably won if JJ Pegues converted some of those 4th down and short runs. He’s just incredibly flawed and have been saying it for weeks/years.
This Ole Miss front is nasty. That’s not including the linebacker Perkins who will be a name for the future to watch. Princely Umanmielen had a sack and TFL in his return game against his old school. Maybe time to give him a bit more love because I’ve mostly hyped up Walter Nolen and Jared Ivey in past weeks. By the way, Nolen looked incredible. One of his better game this year especially making big plays stopping the run. Ivey made a stupid good pass deflection with those long ass arms.
Henry Parrish has been lost for the season and they clearly miss him.
Florida
Florida is a different animal with a healthy DJ Lagway. That much is obvious. What else is obvious is that this is a team that’s been built to peak two years from now. They’re just too young to really get horny about 2025 NFL Draft stuff. Montrell Johnson made his return but Jadan Baugh the freshman is clearly way better. The entire team feels like that including at the start of the year when I called them out for BSing this QB thing.
The only thing I’ll say is that Tyreak Sapp is growing on me. 1.5 sacks and two TFLs in this one. Has some gearth on him and feels more powerful than a Jachai Polite in the past. Was really against against LSU too. Starting to build some momentum.
Penn State
Instinctively slow. I’ve been watching Drew Allar for a while now and I think I finally have it figured out now. There’s just something about him that isn’t a chain athlete. His moves don’t chain together. It’s half robot and half horse that keeps fighting itself to get the job done. It just doesn’t help when you watch him out there it feels like he’s slow to react to the correct decision. Maybe you just can’t fix him.
The numbers are fine? 21/28 for 244 yards and a score is fine? It’s not even about what we’re seeing. It’s about what we’re not seeing.
A: He never elevates the team. Is there ever a team where you’re like… woah Allar made that happen. Those moments are almost zero.
B: His rushing stuff just isn’t there. Josh Allen is a big guy who can run and is even harder to tackle. It’s like watching some sort of sick joke where the Monstars zapped his talents. Allar never looks hard to tackle. Beau Pribula is a waste of time and they still make it a point of emphasis to run him. On the season, Allar is averaging 3.4 yards per carry. It’s somehow better than his previous two seasons playing too. For Allar’s size you would think he would be more physically imposing but it still hasn’t happened and I’m not sure how that part can be ignored.
C: It’s not to say that the guy hasn’t improved because that’s also false. Looks way more comfortable throwing the ball. His accuracy is way up. The dumb picks have been cut down. How much of that is the new OC though who has done an okay job and Kansas clearly misses him. How much better than he really play over a nobody at Minnesota?
Tyler Warren keeps doing the damn thing. He’s now breaking records for the position. Another performance of eight receptions for 102 yards. I really want to see what he runs because I can’t imagine it’s a good time but clearly he has some nuance in his game that’s making him tough to cover. Jack of all trades element helps his stock.
Turn the card in for Abdul Carter and you will sleep just fine at night. I promise. Didn’t wreck the game in this one but who cares. I bet you his 10-yard split time at the Combine is off the charts. Get off is sick. I’m not going to tell you this is the next Micah Parsons but I’m not also convinced he won’t be better. I’m dead serious. It’s crazy because he looks like a Parsons clone who just is less of a stand up linebacker than Parsons was during his college days.
Kobe King and Zane Durant are in the same category. Juniors who will be late round guys who should return to school so they can be factors next year. WIth NIL, there is no reason to declare so don’t.
Running back wise – Kaytron Allen was brutal. Seven carries for ten yards. There are times with him that he just morphs into turd mode. Has upside to be a real power back and then this game happens. Not that you’re going to panic over one game but he couldn’t have looked worse.
Nicholas Singleton appears to be the most underrated running back in the country. Way more of a factor in the passing game than anyone wants to admit in an offense that can’t consistently churn out yardage. Has real home run ability with size and power combined. Caught six balls and notched 13 carries for 63 yards and a score. If Penn State were smart, they would run him 25 times, build a lead, and let Carter hunt. Except James Franklin is really good at not being smart but being just smart enough to beat teams worse than the one he coaches.
But anyway… I think you’re an insane person if you think this draft has several backs better than Singleton. No way anyone believes that, right?
Minnesota
Off a bye and at home. This was almost an upset waiting in the wings. This was essentially Minnesota’s Super Bowl with not much left to go the rest of the way.
Darius Taylor is a RB to monitor in the coming years. They also have Oklahoma reject Marcus Major who Taylor starts ahead of. Wasn’t the sexiest box score but against that Penn State front, he looked really good.
BYU
Fraud.
Darius Lassiter might not be a total fraud.
Arizona State
You bet your ass this game was made a priority. BYU needs to keep taking L’s and Arizona State has been feisty this year. Plus, Cam Skattebo is art at the running back spot. I also think BYU is trash so I’m not sure how much we should even take away from this game.
By the way, Skattebo was great in this one. You have to give him credit for one thing. The guy runs with power. He fights for extra yardage. Maybe he can be the next Mike Alstott. 28 carries for 147 yards and three tuddies. It’s BYU and they’re not good so we’ll keep that in mind but the broken tackle ability is real. The guy tries. Grinder mentality is easy to see. Fights for yardage and is good at creating yards he shouldn’t. Trustworthy in the short yardage gotta have it spots. I’m not sure he’s slow slow either. Hidden swag alert too. Confidence is building. He was a Sacramento State guy originally who believes he’s good, which is important.
I think we all understand why Jaden Rashada transferred now. Sam Leavitt can play. From what I’ve been told, Leavitt flat out beat him out in camp. I didn’t really believe it until now. Again, guy isn’t a world beater but he can play. Context is key when I say that.
BYU had no answer for Jordyn Tyson either. I don’t know a ton about him truthfully but still a redshirt sophomore and highly doubt he declares. With Arizona State returning to relevance, it’s a name to start tracking now. Not sure they win without the way he carries the passing game.
If you’re looking for names to add to the watch list as this team becomes more fun to watch, safety Xavion Alford probably returns to school next year but could declare as a junior.
Alabama
This was an important game for Jalen Milroe for all the wrong reasons. It’s clear he’s two different guys. The one who can play from in front and the one who sucks when he’s behind and needs to play catch up. You can’t hide it anymore. Brent Venables isn’t a total idiot in terms of defense. Oklahoma builds an early lead and stops a few of those QB runs. Quickly it turns into a disaster.
Jalen Milroe has a combined 28 yards rushing in the three Bama loses this year. That’s the story. Venables had him in straight hell and took that part away. It’s a concerning pattern that you can’t ignore. It doesn’t help the running backs are mediocre or are playing average. 11/26 with 164 yards and three brutal picks.
I just don’t know how you ignore the pattern. We’ve seen two different versions of Jalen Milroe. The one who plays from in front and the one who plays catch up. It’s night and day different. When he runs a 4.25 at the Combine, people will pretend the latter version doesn’t exist. Want to bet that happens?
Deontae Lawson got hurt in this game. Such a shame because if you read these you know I love him. He’s since been ruled out for the season. It sucks but maybe it will serve as a good thing in the long run. Not for Lawson but in the sense that we now get to see Jihaad Campbell as the lead dog without a veteran running mate. So far so good on everything Campbell. Linebacker Justin Jefferson will now get an elevated role, who I think has some talent. Freshy Russaw will more likely be the one who emerges.
Speaking of emerges, I’m waiting for LT Overton to wreck the game. It sure didn’t happen in this one. This was supposed to be his year. Sacks aren’t everything but they just aren’t happening for him.
Oh, and Tyler Booker is a stud. Dude competes. Again, I save most of the offensive line stuff once I can see them move in space at the Combine but I can predict here pretty early that he’ll be a favorite of mine.
Tight end CJ Dippre. He blows. Not good at all. Don’t even waste your time.
Oklahoma
Not much different from where Florida is at. A lot of the talent they have is all younger. Although, they’re not untalented on defense. Billy Bowman, Dasan McCullough, and Danny Stutsman all look like draftable players. I’m going to leave it at that.
Vanderbilt
Not that Diego Pavia is a crazy hot 2025 NFL Draft hype name but he’s clearly banged up and running out of gas. They rotated Nate Johnson in way more than they normally do. Not that it really impacts NFL boards but just something to keep in mind. You’re not getting the same Vandy who played five weeks ago. That’s the point here.
LSU
Still not entirely sure how good this Will Campbell is but I bet you his bench number is in the green. Looks powerful when he gets his mits on you.
The broadcast noted that Mason Taylor has improved because the coaching staff has worked with him on using his feet more on routes instead of just whipping his head around. I can see that. Not quick twitched but he remains intriguing to me. The 2025 NFL Draft in terms of tight ends is going to be weird as it usually is. Maybe Taylor can be the gem of the group.
Kyren Lacy dropped another touchdown in the 4th quarter that would have sealed the win. Can you believe it? His hands stink. May as well amputate them and try to attach new ones from a grave stone somewhere. I may sound like a broken record but it is what it is at this point. Movement skills are really good. Guy gets open. I also would trust myself to catch the ball more than him. Take the information at your own discretion.
Garrett Nussmeier played great. No question about it. All of the reasons why you should love him were on display in this one. Big balls. Big throws. Not afraid. Poised and confident. Ball comes off the hand with real zip. Makes NFL throws at a consistent rate. With Bryce Underwood switching up and going to Michigan, maybe Nussmeier will return to school. That part remains to be seen.
Quick Hitters:
Blue and Wisner the Texas running backs are the Spider man meme pointing to each other. They’re the exact same and you can’t convince me otherwise. Nickel runners who can catch but aren’t actually any good. What Chase Brown is doing right now is their best case scenario but not convinced they have any real power either.
I won’t make a full declaration on this until after the Combine but I can’t imagine I’ll have a tackle ranked higher than Kelvin Banks for the 2025 NFL Draft. That dude is for real.
Colorado did a great job tackling the run last week against Utah. Not so much against Devin Neal. He broke more tackles than I thought he would. Can catch too. Maybe I was too harsh on Neal in the past. Actually has size and runs with more power than I thought he did.
Turn the card in for Ohtani. Closing speed playing corner is ridiculous. Are we sure he’s not the best receiver in the draft? A blind bat would be able to figure out that Travis Hunter is different. In terms of the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter should probably just be the first pick even if you need a QB. That’s unless you’re dumb enough to not use him on both sides of the ball.
Shilo Sanders stinks. Not an NFL player. We’ve seen more than enough.
