The 2023 NFL Draft tight end rankings are here! Most people will tell you this is an abnormally strong tight end class. I don’t agree but I usually never do with the other punk analysts out there. There are a lot of calculated gambles but no sure thing. Let’s get right to the rankings.
*Just missed: Will Mallory (Miami)
10: Davis Allen (Clemson)
Tall but can’t run. Very little production. Not a large recruiting background. Did go to Clemson. I guess that’s good enough for the ten spot.

9: Cameron Latu (Alabama)
Kinda reminds me of Austin Hooper. Gets open. Can catch. Finds a hole and makes the most of it. Won’t blow you away but will do the job. Pretty safe floor.

8: Payne Durham (Purdue)
Flashed a bit at the Senior Bowl. Might be a weapon in the red area.

7: Zack Kuntz (Old Dominion)
Really thought about going higher here. The tools are just outrageous. Maybe my favorite flier to take at the position.

6: Sam LaPorta (Iowa)
Iowa has put out quality tight ends in the past and I think you’re probably getting another here. If the Hawkeyes offense was so inept, his stock would be higher. Runs well for the position too.

5: Michael Mayer (Notre Dame)
Highly overrated. You can find more on the profile below.

4: Brenton Strange (Penn State)
Had some weird plays last year that were broken to the house. The YAC ability might be real. High upside H Back that can be a jack of all trades type guy to improve someone’s offense.

3: Luke Musgrave (Oregon State)
Injury hurts his stock but the upside is real. Big frame and easy mover too. If everything goes right, this could be the best guy in the class.

2: Dalton Kincaid (Utah)
I kinda like the talent and the basketball ability helps. Just a lot of red flags. Could be a total flame out or a quality starter.

1: Darnell Washington (Georgia)
I just don’t know how you don’t rank Darnell Washington first. He’s the biggest freak show in the draft. Are you really going to hold Brock Bowers against him? I’m not. There is a DK Metcalf element here. Use your head. That big, fast, and strong. I’ll take him even if the overall production isn’t what you want.
