Why Hasn’t Maximum Football Called Me Yet?

It felt like Christmas yesterday when it was announced that EA Sports was bringing back the college football video game. We haven’t had a real licensed college football game since the version in 2013 with Denard Robinson on the cover.

While EA was hitting the snooze button on the college football game, Doug Flutie and Maximum Football tried to take over the market. Max Football was designed to be a college football game with full customization. You can create your own college football team or insert LSU in the game.

I don’t need to tell you about the game. We have several articles explaining and promoting the product.

Speaking of promoting, there isn’t a media platform that exists that has done a better job advocating Max Football than us at Vendetta. The first video of Jackson’s VU series has close to 4,000 views. We just started our YouTube channel about a year ago. You name it, we have done it; positive reviews, interviews, and gaming videos. Truthfully, all of us love the product or we wouldn’t have done it.

A few months ago, I emailed some of the big wigs at their company trying to find a way to partner with them. You would think the media company that pushed your brand the hardest, you would want to do business with them anyway. Albeit, I was the first one to reach out.

Full disclosure, I wasn’t even going to charge them. I would have just been happy with the in-game branding and to call it a day. I was ready to offer them the house for nothing. Advertising on the site, ad reads on shows, free in game broadcasting, full access to our personalities, etc. Whatever they wanted, I was fine with.

After a couple of emails back and forth, I heard nothing back. What did we get in return? A big slap in the face. I sent over demos of some broadcasting highlights. Got no response. In fact, this company was so disrespectful that they didn’t even follow me back on Twitter.

After all the positive press we gave this company, they couldn’t even give the founder and CEO a follow back. About as disrespectful and idiotic as it gets. It’s an asinine move if you ask me, but whatever. NOW… things have changed.

I’m an honest person. I believe in transparency. I don’t do offline. Vendetta was created to be an unfiltered sports media company. Let’s be honest; Maximum Football is or will be dead with EA bringing their game back. That’s just a fact. Maybe it’s karma for not following me back but I can’t confirm that.

If you’re Max football today, what’s your plan? What’s the next thing you have up your sleeve? Right now it’s about survival. There are two types of people after they get shot. The survivor will crawl and find alternatives until the lights go out. The second type will just lay there and wait for the end. Right now it looks like Max Football is type two.

I don’t need you Max Football. Your business is about to die. I’m not tooting my own horn here. We have a long way to go to get to where I want to be. Shit, I was willing to do a bunch of shit for free so obviously, I’m not trying to ride some high horse.

I’m also not going to down play it either. We might be a fairly new media company, but we’re not slouches either. We have a fairly big audience. We’re talking about thousands upon thousands upon thousands of free eye balls and attention for your brand. Only a complete and utter fool would have not taken this offer. It was so one sided in their favor it would be like intentionally going to a strip club, dropping 10 grand on the floor, and immediately walking home. I didn’t care. I just wanted to see their game grow.

Keep in mind no other media company paid them this much attention. Nor did any other media company help promote their game more.

Max Football doesn’t need to compete with EA. They just need to survive. I’m sure their office is scrambling (or should be) to try to think ways to survive. The fact that Max Football hasn’t called me yet might go down as the craziest move since the Bears were dumb enough to draft Mitch Trubisky over Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes.

The clock is ticking. I’ll be expecting you call any moment now.
