The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons had similar records last year. but who is a better team to own on SimBull for this upcoming NFL season? It really comes down to one thing.
SimFalcons ($33.42)
The Falcons have the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and most mock drafts, including our own at Vendetta, have them drafting Kyle Pitts from Florida. There have been rumblings that Pitts could be the best tight end of all time, big praise. The man huge and can fly up and down the field, a deadly combination for the traditional NFL linebacker.
If this ends up being the case, they are going to give Matt Ryan another run at it, and that is a mistake. The man has had some legendary moments in his career but has never been the same since the infamous 28-3 game. Like it or not, he is closer to the end of the road than he is to his prime.
SimPanthers ($28.73)
The NFC South foe had a similar problem as Atlanta, an aging quarterback. The Panthers got their answer in Sam Darnold and picked up his fifth-year option and have decided to build around the most recent victim of Adam Gase. I know it is not an unpopular opinion within our group chats here, but the former Jet signal-caller still has a lot to offer and will get a chance to back it up with a clean slate.
Bottom line, I am going to put my money where my mouth and buy the SimPanthers, I believe in Matt Rhule and his staff in Carolina. This team isn’t ready to rival the Bucs quite yet, but they have the highest win % payout in their division. The Panthers have a leg up long term over the Falcons if Atlanta doesn’t shock the world on draft night.
