Indianapolis Colts are the frontrunners to land Kentucky QB Will Levis

The quarterback carousel is continuing to turn for the Indianapolis Colts once again. With the release of Matt Ryan and the signing of Gardner Minshew, the Colts have an interesting time ahead regarding their outlook under center. Right now, Kentucky quarterback Will Levis remains the frontrunner for the Colts with the Lamar Jackson situation still in the air, according to Sportskeeda.

Levis has been one of the names popping up on draft boards as the Colts’ selection at fourth overall. But it could go in a different direction, with Jackson potentially finding a new home. Who knows where Levis will land?

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler addressed the possibility of the Colts drafting the Kentucky product with the fourth overall pick.

“Will Levis and the Colts, there is a little bit of buzz league wide about that pairing at No. 4 overall,” Fowler said, via Sportskeeda. “I texted with Kentucky coach Mark Stoops, who coached Levis for a few years with the Wildcats. He said, ‘I can just say the Colts have done their homework on Levis and left it at that. Now, they’ve done their homework on a lot of guys, but I talked to several teams who believe that there could be something there.”

“He fits the prototype of what the Colts have typically liked in a quarterback,” Fowler said, via Sportskeeda. “They like that big, sturdy, pocket-passer. So, he’s got that in spades. He’s not for everybody. Not every team has loved his makeup or the way he plays, but he’s got a lot of supporters as well.”

Right now, the Colts are in prime position to select a top quarterback in this year’s draft. Currently, Indianapolis sits behind the Carolina Panthers, who acquired the first overall pick, the Houston Texans, and the Arizona Cardinals. The Texans and Panthers are almost certain to select a quarterback before the Colts, leaving them to most likely select Levis or Anthony Richardson. With these rumors surrounding Levis and Indianapolis, it will lead to another exciting NFL draft.
