If Le’Veon Bell wasn’t worthless in fantasy already, Adam Gase nailed that coffin shut. We already know that Gase hates Bell. Now he pretty much came out and said he wants to phase him out of the offense. I guess we should have known this was coming. Bell is going to get cut next year when it’s feasible to do so with his contract.
Adam Gase spoke to Rich Cimini of ESPN detailing the usage for Bell:
“I do think we have some guys that can help maybe lessen the load on [Bell] to where it’s not all on him,” Gase said. “Hopefully, we can get some of the younger backs to where we can make a good one-two punch to where we can really excel instead of feeling like it’s just all on him all the time.”
This should go over great with Bell! The same man that bitched about not getting enough touches the year before. The Jets are such a shit show. It’s truly embarrassing. Regardless, Bell is going to get less touches this year. Kenneth Dixon, Josh Adams, and Lamical Perine are the other bodies on the roster.
We should also mention that Le’Veon Bell was horrendous a year ago. 3.2 yards per carry worth of trash. I know it’s an untenable cap hit to do so but I’d cut his ass yesterday. I traded Bell immediately in the Madden franchise. Totally worthless. Product of Pittsburgh. I got nothing else to say. Probably the biggest deterrent of any player on any roster. Pray for Sam Darnold.
