Should I draft Le’Veon Bell for fantasy this year? Is this a thought you have had in the recent year? What I want you to do is remove that thought, take it out of your head, and flush it down the toilet. I want you to remember this. Le’Veon Bell should be considered worthless in fantasy moving forward.
Do people realize that Bell is terrible now? It was hard not to see coming. Bell went full Maurice Clarrett and the Steeler version vanished. It’s over. Never coming back again. Bell wasn’t just awful in 2019. He was arguably the single worst running back in the entire league. Only Peyton Barber had a worse yard per carry average a year ago.
From a fantasy perspective, the offense is not a fantasy friendly one. This offensive line is horrendous. Joe Douglas was so desperate for help he overpaid for George Fant who saw snaps at tight end. Bell is god awful. His poor offensive line only compounds the issue.
Bilal Powell was statistically better than Bell a year ago. Now the Jets have actually drafted a running back. Lamical Perine is going to get carries. It was pretty much a one man show for Bell. He won’t get as many touches after they drafted Perine.
Think about this. Raheem Mostert didn’t start a single game for the 49ers. He really only got going the last 4 weeks of the season. He scored more fantasy points than Le’Veon Bell last year. Just don’t do it. Picking Bell in fantasy is only wasting your time and ruining your season. The days of Bell being a fantasy darling are OVER.
