2023 NFL Draft War Room: Las Vegas Raiders
What will the fighting Chicksters do this year? At least Mike Mayock isn’t in charge anymore. The only problem is I’m not sure the plan to create New England West is any better. Are the Caleb Williams sweepstakes really a worse alternative? Let’s just get this over with so that Chickster can yell at me! Here is your 2023 NFL Draft War Room for the Las Vegas Raiders!
- Round 1, Pick 7
- Round 2, Pick 38
- Round 3, Pick 70
- Round 3, Pick 100 (from KC via NYG)*
- Round 4, Pick 109
- Round 5, Pick 141
- Round 5, Pick 144 (from ATL)
- Round 5, Pick 174*
- Round 6, Pick 204 (from DAL)
- Round 6, Pick 214
- Round 7, Pick 220 (from ARI)
- Round 7, Pick 231 (from NE)
Soooo this draft feels pretty straight forward for the Raiders. Who is the best player to fall to pick 7? If a top quarterback is there, you have to consider it. If Will Anderson or Jalen Carter falls, that’s your pick. Otherwise, I think you look corner. If you can move down a few spots to still get your guy, you do it.
After that, I think the Raiders should really think about pulling the trigger on a tight end. Darnell Washington just feels like an Al Davis pick. What a freak show that guy is. After trading Darren Waller, I’m not sure you can come away empty handed at this spot.
The offensive line should also be a priority. Whoever you can get at that pick 70 spot feels like the time to strike. Hopefully, someone you like falls to you there.
