2023 NFL Draft War Room: Atlanta Falcons
I don’t know who the Falcons are trying to fool but nobody intelligent is buying this Desmond Ridder thing. I mean nobody. Between holding Kyle Pitts hostage, pulling the trigger on bum Drake London at eight, and having Fed Ex spoon feeder as your head coach, I think I would be ready to turn in my fan card if I rooted for this joke of a team. With that in mind, we’re going to do the best that we can here today. This is your Falcons 2023 NFL Draft War Room.
- Round 1, Pick 8
- Round 2, Pick 44
- Round 3, Pick 75
- Round 4, Pick 110
- Round 4, Pick 113 (from TEN)
- Round 5, Pick 159 (from JAX)
- Round 7, Pick 224
- Round 7, Pick 225 (from LV)
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Falcons find a way to botch this and take Bijan Robinson at 9. It would make sense with what they want to do too. They love to run the football and they don’t really have a premier guy other than Tyler Allgeier. Yes, Cordarelle Patterson exists too but it doesn’t seem like they value him the way that they should. It’s not the pick I would make but I don’t doubt that it could happen.
The best fit is probably Nolan Smith. The Falcons need a pass rusher in the worst way and Smith would fit them well. Has a ton of speed off the edge and brings one of them Georgia boys to the Falcons. I can’t remember the last time Atlanta had a viable pass rusher. Moving down and picking Smith feels like the optimal outcome.
Other areas of need include finding that Calvin Ridley replacement. Not sure Mack Hollins is the guy you want filling that void. Zay Flowers or Jordan Addison if possible would be the type of guy to really upgrade that spot.
