Sleeper Exposes Themselves As A Cookie-Cutter Fantasy Outlet

I say this all the time but I’ll say it again. It’s so damn hard to find people that are actually talented at fantasy football. I genuinely have zero respect for the fantasy industry because they’re about 20 years behind me in terms of talent. The target today is Sleeper who just flat-out exposed themselves for being a cookie-cutter bush league fantasy platform.

I saw this Tweet from Chickster and it couldn’t be more spot-on. Except I need to add a lot more to it.

A: Everybody who is educated in fantasy football knows that auction leagues are superior. If you’re catering your product to snake draft people, you’re already working with the bottom of the barrel.

B: Even if you play coward ball snake drafts, the only format that a QB shouldn’t go first is in a redraft one-quarterback league. If you’re catering your product to one QB league, I can’t stress enough how amateur of a company you are.

There are 32 starting quarterbacks. The idea that only ten of them are going to be used in a singular week is comical.

C: The entire point of fantasy is so you can replicate real-life football. Are we going to actually sit here and pretend that quarterbacks aren’t the most valuable players in the sport? The only world where we still try to pretend that are the amateurs that play the most pathetic brand of fantasy football.

D: This isn’t 2005. It’s just not. When I first started playing fantasy, you went RB, RB no matter what. Give me LaDainian Tomlinson and Priest Holmes to start things out!

The fact that Sleeper just assumes that it’s still 2005 tells you everything you need to know. Way to just not evolve at all with the times.

Again, even if you are playing coward ball snake drafts, there are still plenty of acceptable formats where a quarterback should be taken in the first round.

Patrick Mahomes should go with the first pick in dynasty drafts even if it’s a one QB league.

A quarterback should automatically be the first pick in a Super Flex league. Based on the way Sleeper acts online, I’m not sure they even know what Super Flex leagues are. Six other quarterbacks should go in the first round of a Super Flex league at minimum depending on how many other teams are in the league.

Really pathetic behavior by Sleeper. Is this really the competition that’s out there? By the way, we tried to use Sleeper for our site league one time. It was the worst draft of all time because their auction meter is totally broken and just auto bids for people randomly. That should tell you a lot right there.

Is this really what you want to be known for, Sleeper? The one-QB league snake draft losers? I wish you luck in your journey of mediocre content. I’m just saying that I’d be embarrassed if I ran my company this way.
