Sai’vion Jones is admittedly one of my favorites in this class, and we’re about to talk about why. Without further ado, here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on the LSU edge defender!

Jones, 21, was a former four star recruit out of the state of Louisiana. That also includes being ranked the 10th ranked edge player and 5th overall player in the state. Coming out of high school, he also had a basketball and track background, throwing the shotput and javelin. He spent all four seasons with the Tigers.

The sack numbers here aren’t anything insane, but I encourage you to check out the Stock Report notes. The first two years, Jones was a rotational player. The last two years, he was a starter and finished off 2024 with 40 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, 2 PBUs, and 2 forced fumbles.

No Combine workout for Jones minus the leaps and bench. 19 bench reps while checking in at 6-foot-5, 280 isn’t an insane number but at least he had the stones to do it. Honestly, I’m surprised he was that heavy considering he was a jack of all trades guy at LSU. Has nearly 34 inch arms too.

Jones is kinda a tweener. I’m not sure if he’s better as a 4-3 DE or 3-4 edge, but either way, I think he’s going to help whatever team picks him. There’s a physical presence to him, and I like his motor. The LSU games I watched, he was the most impactful guy on their defense. Has some twitch and anger to him too. By the way, 32 QB hurries this past year. That’s not a small number in the SEC.

If you weren’t sure about Jones before, the Senior Bowl should have been all you needed to see. He was great there, especially during the game portion. He might need a year or two to develop but this is a real player.

I think Sai’vion Jones is a round 2-3 player who projects to be a red chip level starter. The best part about that is he’s been going way later in the draft simulators I’ve been doing, so he’s definitely a target for me for guys I’m leaving the draft with for all the reasons I mentioned earlier.
