League executives believe Giannis Antetokounmpo will re-sign with Bucks. There is one thing that could potentially hold that up… (Benny Sieu/USA TODAY Sports)

#Gianniswatch never stops. For the sake that we no longer have to listen to talking heads talk about nonsense two years away, it appears this narrative could go away. Will Giannis Anteokounmpo stay or go? It looks like executives from around the league believe he will stick around in Milwaukee.

Tim Bontemps from ESPN had the following:

Given how well the Bucks are playing, every executive we spoke to expects Antetokounmpo to re-sign with Milwaukee. The Bucks are overwhelming favorites to reach the NBA Finals, and falling short of that bar looks to be the only thing that could put Milwaukee’s MVP in play.

There it is. As long as Milwaukee goes to the Finals, the expectation is that Giannis signs the super max extension. An extension that is worth $254 million. That kind of money is hard to turn down anyway. If Milwaukee falls short of their goals, then Giannis could be in play the following year. Now can we stop reporting something on Giannis every week? That would be great.

This report isn’t surprising. It has been well documented that Giannis wants to be loyal to the only city he’s ever played in. Giannis is from Greece. It’s not like he’s going to leave Milwaukee to go home like Kahwi Leonard or LeBron James. If anything, Milwaukee is his NBA home. I think that has to mean something? I’m sure he holds a grudge over the teams that passed on him in the draft too. Hell, the Knicks didn’t even bother to scout him.

If you want Giannis, find a way to beat the Bucks. It’s as simple as that. Well, maybe not so simple when you consider that Milwaukee has the best record in the NBA.
