Is Justyn Ross Worth The Flier In Dynasty Fantasy Leagues?
I will still never understand how people play dynasty leagues where you can own players forever. However, for dynasty or even keeper league owners, they have a very important question to decide. Three years from now, who will be the number one target on the Chiefs while Patrick Mahomes is still very much in the midst of his prime? That guy could very well be Justyn Ross?
Who knows? Maybe the number one target on the Chiefs three years from now isn’t on the roster yet. I would probably just bet that JuJu Smith-Schuster isn’t that guy either. Maybe Mecole Hardman will finally emerge and take that spot? Maybe Skyy Moore was the perfect pick and he becomes special?
Here is a thought. MAYBE it’s Justyn Ross. The former five star recruit who immediately stepped on the field as a true freshman at Clemson and dominated helping guide the Tigers to a national championship over Alabama? Why can’t I talk myself into that happening? Once upon a time, I said some crazy things about Ross that probably would have become true had the neck condition never occurred.
The range of outcomes here are endless. Maybe Ross will never be healthy and will flame out of the league. I don’t have his medical reports. There also feels like a chance that this could become a Nick Chubb thing and we all got it wrong. Chubb should have been taken ahead of Saquon Barkley and I don’t care what anybody says. Justyn Ross should have been drafted and I don’t care what anybody says.
The tools are there. 6-foot-4, 205, and can run. Apparently, the guy is lighting it up at Chiefs rookie minicamp. That’s the word on the street. Maybe it’s a rumor but it’s pretty easy to believe his skill set wowed some people.
In terms of fantasy, are there worse gambles to take? This is buying a ticket on Chiefs’ island. I want a lot of tickets on that island even if they’re failed gambles. We’ll see if Ross flashes in the preseason but it’s hard to not talk yourself into taking a dart throw on the former Clemson product late in your fantasy league. More so for long term leagues, of course.
