Jeremiah Trotter Jr. 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Jeremiah Trotter’s son is about to enter the NFL. Do you feel old yet? This keeps happening more and more so maybe that’s a sign. Anyway, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is set to take his skills to the next level so let’s review the Clemson linebacker’s 2024 NFL Draft Profile!

I have to start with this because it’s just how I feel. There were two players this year over and over again when I watched the games, I just thought they were painfully slow. That list includes Audric Estime and Trotter Jr. We saw what happened with Estime at the Combine and then later how the corrupt NFL Network tried to spread more lies about how dumb they were in the fact that they couldn’t see it coming.

The same thing would have happened to Trotter but I guess he has a much better PR team. I mean the guy literally faked a hamstring injury at the Pro Day so that he couldn’t run. Has zero long speed. Trotter did wind up doing the 20-yard shuffle and 3-cone drill. He lost to lumbering slow blocking tight end Tip Reiman in both events.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the guy lacks speed. It’s oddly convenient that we have no 40 time to work with. However, I know what I saw. He’s in that Manti Teo, Vontaze Burfict, Brandon Spikes tier of painfully slow linebackers. When your Mike is slow, your defense is slow and for that reason, Trotter is way down on the board for me.

Frankly, the guy should switch to edge rusher. Over the last two years, Trotter has 12 sacks playing inside linebacker. It’s by far the best thing he does. Has decent pure hands on him too. Can make a pick if he’s around the ball. Have him gain 20 pounds and go rush the passer. I might be in if that’s the case. He ripped out 21 reps on the bench while checking in at 6-foot, 228.

The former four star recruit from New Jersey has NFL bloodlines is just really good coming downhill. Very much better going North and South rather than running / chasing. Actually has a pretty good knack for shedding blocks.

I have a 5th-6th round grade on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. If he’s going to cost the same thing as Payton Wilson, I know which way I’m going. If he’s playing for me, he’s training to become a pure blitzer.
