Jamal Adams has made a bunch of headlines this offseason. Most notably requesting a trade. This time, we may have found out why he wants out. Jamal Adams said Adam Gase is NOT the right leader for the Jets. It’s hard to disagree and Gase may be the driving force for why Adams wants out.
“I don’t feel like he’s the right leader for this organization to reach the Promised Land,” Adams said. “As a leader, what really bothers me is that he doesn’t have a relationship with everybody in the building.
“At the end of the day, he doesn’t address the team,” Adams added. “If there’s a problem in the locker room, he lets another coach address the team. If we’re playing sh—y and we’re losing, he doesn’t address the entire team as a group at halftime. He’ll walk out of the locker room and let another coach handle it.”
I think this part needs to be said first. Jamal Adams continues to cause distractions. Get this man out of town and fast. I can’t remember a defensive player causing more drama than Jamal Adams. He’s not worth the squeeze. Box safety with no ball production. Hard pass. Trade this man yesterday.
I also want to bring up another point. Adam Gase deserves blame here. No doubt. However, tell me who you’re going to hire? Show me the bright young offensive mind that’s going to lead the Jets to the promise land? I haven’t been in love with a candidate since Kyle Shanahan and that was 3 years ago. There’s not a great offensive coordinator out there that you feel 100 percent confident will be a good head coach.
The first thing the Jets need to do is trade Jamal Adams. Make this headache go away. Get as many draft picks as you can and actually hit on those picks. Sam Darnold needs help. Adams isn’t much help.
