Did Colin Cowherd Steal My Intern?

I can’t believe I’m writing this. I’m really at a loss for words right now. I know Trey has some undercover street cred but like this? I knew Cowherd and I would cross paths at some point. I just didn’t see this as being a chapter of the story.

Let me start from the beginning and work forward to today. Yes, this is somehow a real story, and zero click bait cheese is involved.

VSM has a nice little partnership with Arizona State. We’ve got some really talented people from there in the past. Jerry Walker is probably the most notable example of someone who completed the program and has now turned into a success story. Julian Casciano shined during the Spring semester and hopefully will turn into a star. Like every semester, I try to find that hidden gem to add to the pirate ship.

March 2nd was the ASU Career Day. I interviewed 11 kids that day. It was more like seven because a good number of them just didn’t show up. It was also the first day of the Scouting Combine. Not exactly ideal timing given the amount of NFL Draft work I do on a yearly basis. Let’s just say it was a busy day for Trey.

Quick side tangent; Shoutout to the girl I interviewed, Karli. She’s going to be a star. I was PISSED when we didn’t get her.

A few days later I get my list from ASU on the kids I got paired with. I had a list of five that I wanted and only ended up getting one. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about it considering the amount of time I had to set aside for the Combine. Unlike Cowherd, Trey actually creates content about the Combine. I’m not uneducated.

But that’s a story for another day so let’s continue. Anyway, this is basically what you need to see from the email I got from Arizona State.

Fast forward to today. I have so many things to say but let’s get to the footage first.

WTF just happened?

Did Cowherd steal my intern?

Does Logan still plan on doing his internship with us? You would think I would have heard from the kid but we know these Gen Z people aren’t built different. Giving me a heads-up, however, would have been nice regardless of his status here.

Is Cowherd going to force the kid to quit his internship once he finds out who I am?

All valid questions. All I really know is the intern draft is going to be an electric factory this Summer. You won’t want to miss it. These kids are supposed to start in a couple of weeks…

Side note: Did this really have to happen today? The 2023 NFL Draft is tomorrow. It’s the biggest content day of the year for us. My draft record speaks for itself. Instead, I’m writing an article about Cowturd. Is this a 4D chess move by him as his way to enact revenge? If so I actually have more respect for him.

Other side note: I hope Logan decides to complete his internship here. I want the kid to succeed. If Cowherd is smart he uses Logan as a plant to learn everything he can from Trey. Uncle Trey could teach him a thing or two. Probably 700 if we’re being honest. Plus we know Cowherd wouldn’t be able to teach Logan a single thing about blogging so his new job isn’t a conflict. Just saying….
