I am typically not one to shit on people for their opinions. Maybe I am, actually. But when it comes to the NFL Draft, everyone will have all sorts of different rankings. Typically, everyone has the same 5 or so players in their rankings, maybe one or two surprises, but for the most part pretty uniform. That is until Chris Simms said hold my beer and screw your opinions. Simms came out with his latest WR rankings for the 2022 NFL Draft, and needless to say, they aren’t great. Take a look for yourself.
Don’t even bother with watching the YouTube video. You can see from the picture that this list is trash. Absolutely awful. Let’s start with the elephant in the room: where is Garrett Wilson or Chris Olave? Did they retire from football and not announce it? I know no one has heard of Christian Watson from North Dakota St. Apologies to the young man, but I promise you he is not the 2nd best receiver in this draft class. Up until today, I have never even seen him on a mock that I have seen. Alec Pierce? Yeah, he tests well. That does not constitute the 3rd best receiver in the class. 52 catches in 14 games doesn’t scream elite talent to me. Not everyone can be Hunter Renfrow. Treylon Burks is a popular name in the top 5 receiver rankings that I have seen, but I’ll pass. But he is someone who makes sense at least. Drake London is a massive boom or massive bust, and one of our writers thinks the latter. At least Jameson Williams makes sense, and he deserves a spot in anyone’s top 5 even coming off a torn ACL.
There always seems to be one person or one site that always finds a way to stir the pot and drop rankings to get people talking. In no way shape or form does anyone ACTUALLY these are the 5 best receivers in this draft class. Want to know a more accurate list? Click here. The fact of the matter is maybe Chris Simms should take a break from releasing these rankings lists, because if the rest are like these no one is going to take him seriously.
