Bryan Edwards Might Be The Sleepiest Sleeper For Fantasy 2021

WHO?! If you don’t know who Bryan Edwards is, I don’t blame you in the slightest. In all honesty, this could be a solid candidate for the ‘Who The Fuck Is That Guy segment on the Ballz Deep Fantasy show. But being the dedicated and miserable Raiders fan that I am, I do know this name. I’m trying to take the King Karl Heiser approach here and find a sleeper that will explode here. A couple of weeks ago, he predicted the Marquez Callaway explosion like the wizard he is. I’m trying to do that while also being as biased as I can be.

Bryan Edwards was also a rookie WR last year along with Henry Ruggs III. Bryan Edwards was a 3rd round pick and Henry Ruggs was a 1st round pick. But, what’s wild is that I like Bryan Edwards so much more than Henry Ruggs III for fantasy. While I defended the Henry Ruggs III pick (I told you, I am a dedicated guy) as a scheme fit, for fantasy that means literally nothing. Henry Ruggs’s job is to open up the field by being a deep threat with his speed. With his job, it’s very rare that the Raiders will throw to him in Jon Gruden’s West Coast offense. As an every-down receiver, Bryan Edwards’s potential is way higher than Ruggs. By height, Edwards is the biggest WR on the team, he does have an average 40-time. But, with his size, he should be the go-to WR in the RedZone. He will get plenty of looks and TDs for the Raiders. Just for that alone, his potential is immense.

I did rank him 3rd on the best WRs for fantasy on the Raiders. That was just a safety net, I do think he could emerge as the leading WR for the Raiders, at least in terms of fantasy. A part of this post wanted me to just be biased. Everyone at Vendetta hates when I talk about the Raiders, so I never get to express myself. I do think Bryan Edwards does have a chance though. He could be a solid sleeper and a guy you can take a flier on late in the draft or for $1 in auction leagues. I’m just saying not to count out my man Bryan Edwards and he might make you look like a genius, or just make me look very dumb.
