Asante Samuel Uses Newton’s Release To Take A Shot At Belichick

I guess there’s still bad blood between Asante Samuel and Bill Belichick. The news of Cam Newton’s release came as a shock to almost everyone in the football community, but Samuel decided to take it a step further and flat out take a shot at Bill Belichick.

In response to a Louis Riddick tweet calling Belichick “cold blooded,” Samuel took it a step further by tweeting the following:

Asante Samuel was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL draft. He played for the team from 2003 to 2007. Samuel was very upset with the Patriots and held out before the 2007 season because he was franchise-tagged. After missing almost all of training camp and the preseason, Samuel was tired of the mess of negotiations. Belichick was clearly stubborn, and no long-term deal came from the situation. My only guess is that the bad blood from this situation has decided to stick around for over a decade into the future! That’s an incredibly long time to hold a grudge, I’m impressed.

Asante Samuel also absolutely sucked in NFL Head Coach 09, coach Trey Daubert needs more out of him in season two.
