The Browns Totally Stole Elijah Moore

The Browns totally stole Elijah Moore. This trade by Joe Douglas should be viewed as indefensible. What’s the rationale behind this move?

Joe Douglas is an idiot and I still don’t understand how that man was allowed to keep his job. We already know his 2020 Draft was a stinker. We knew that back then too. Now his 2021 class looks like total garbage too. The Zach Wilson pick is one thing. Giving up on a young receiver like Elijah Moore should be considered inexcusable.

In case you missed it, the Jets traded third year wide receiver Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns. The trade includes a pick swap. That is it. The Browns move down from 42 to 74 and acquire the former Ole Miss receiver as part of the deal.

I’m sorry but this is just indefensible for the Jets. This is a guy you picked in the second round. How many flame outs on the offensive side of the ball is acceptable to have before you lose your job? The worst part is the receiver market is totally out of control. The second Moore pops he’s instantly worth a ton more. The Jets basically got the equivalent of a 5th round pick to make this trade. It’s the ultimate sell low move.

Moore, 23, is a good player that was stuck in a poo poo situation. That’s the truth. Moore got open last year. It’s not his fault the Jets quarterback room was a tire fire.

These aren’t superstar numbers but it should show you that Moore is better than his current stat line indicates. He’s also young and should be entering his prime years shortly. Keep in mind his metrics are significantly better than both Corey Davis and Allen Lazard. There is no rationale to the Lazard move outside of the fact that he’s an Aaron Rodgers guy.

A year ago Moore had 37 receptions for 446 yards and one touchdown. Keep in mind that Deshaun Watson will now be throwing him the ball and Amari Cooper is going to command the most attention. Also keep in mind that Moore will be dirt cheap for the next two years. Also keep in mind if Moore turns into anything and walks, the Browns will collect a comp pick that will be worth more than the swap they just gave up via trade.

Another total brain dead move by the Joe Douglas crew. How long are we going to let him keep getting away with this? What’s going to happen when he overpays for Aaron Rodgers and the team still isn’t good enough? The Jets are improving but also heading down a dark path. Douglas is never going to be the guy that climbs them out of this darkness. The Marvin Lewis Bengals days are ahead!
