The Volume Sports Network is Hiring Former NFL Scout John Middlekauff

The Volume is Acquiring the Show 3 and Out with John Middlekauff

The Volume Sports Network, founded by television and radio sports personality Colin Cowherd, is hiring former NFL scout and current podcast host John Middlekauff. Middlekauff’s podcast 3 and Out with John Middlekauff will be acquired by the network and is expected to release three shows a week during the NFL season, according to Barrett Sports Media.

When asked by BSM about Middlekauff’s hiring, Cowherd had this to say:

“John brings a unique perspective to his NFL coverage as an insider who has been in the rooms where key personnel decisions have been made. That experience brings a different outlook – perfectly aligned with The Volume’s programming approach of ‘same sports, different angles.’”

When asked why he chose to accept the position with Volume, Middlekauff emphasized the importance of learning under great figures, whether that be in the NFL or sports media.

“I learned the NFL world through working for Andy Reid and Howie Roseman as a scout. The goal of the job was simple: identify talent. When I transitioned to broadcasting, it wasn’t a long search to figure out the most talented guy in the field. Colin Cowherd is the best in the business, and I knew I wanted to emulate him.”

Cowherd and Volume’s addition of Middlekauff is just one in a string of successive podcast and show acquisitions this year. Just last week, the sports network added popular college football and SEC podcast The JBoy Show. According to BSM, Middlekauff could also feature on a variety of Volume podcasts as a guest.
