AEW Dynamite is set to feature a huge main event with five matches on the card and some important promos, there’s no telling what can happen. The show is packed with important action that can lead to matches getting added to the All Out card. Here’s a preview of what to expect heading into this action-packed AEW Dynamite.
We are going to hear from former FTW champion Ricky Starks. Ever since his former friend, Powerhouse Hobbs, turned on him, he has been chasing him. Hobbs seems to be avoiding Starks and it appears he doesn’t want to wrestle him. Starks wants to get his revenge on Hobbs for attacking him, which also ultimately caused Team Taz to implode. I’m going to predict that we are going to get Ricky Starks vs Powerhouse Hobbs added to the AEW All Out match card.
Last week, Billy and Austin Gunn turned on their father, Billy Gunn. The three of them were a team called Gunn Club until the brothers attacked their father. Gunn Club has had its issues with the Acclaimed in recent months, even going as far as having a dumpster match between the two teams. Furthermore, Billy Gunn constantly talks about how he loved the Acclaimed, even in the middle of their feud with them. Colten and Austin had enough and turned on their own father. After the attack, the Acclaimed came out to help fend off Austin and Colten. Meanwhile, Austin and Colten have since aligned themselves with Stokely Hathaway. Hathaway has been attempting to recruit wrestlers to go under his management over the past couple of weeks. Billy Gunn now gets his shot at revenge and a chance to teach his son a lesson in the process.
Britt Baker is upset that she doesn’t have a match on the All Out card. She has a chance to take out her frustrations on KiLynn King. King faced the No. 1 ranked woman in the division, Toni Storm, last week. Although it was a good showing for King, she didn’t get the job done. King has wrestled mostly on AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation, so Wednesday is another shot on a big stage to make a statement. Baker is looking to prove that she should have a match on the pay-per-view.
With Storm facing Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s Championship, I can see Baker getting added to that. Storm and Rosa’s matchup wasn’t made official until after Storm beat King last week. Essentially that’s AEW saying that since she beat King, she earned a shot at the title. Realistically, I can see Baker beating King faster than Storm did and that being her way into the match.
Dax Harwood is set to take on professional wrestling veteran, Jay Lethal. Lethal has aligned himself with Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh since arriving on the scene in AEW. Lethal’s group has had its share of issues with teams in the locker room. Most recently, they found themselves in a feud with FTR and Wardlow, who took a stand against Lethal, Dutt, and Singh as FTR arrived as a backup for him. These six men are going to face each other at All Out. But first, Harwood and Lethal get a chance to see what the other is made of. This match gives fans a preview of what to expect heading into the pay-per-view.
Chris Jericho is set to meet face-to-face with Jericho Appreciation Society member, Daniel Garcia. Garcia is coming off of a huge win against Bryan Danielson and an epic 2-out-of-3 falls match where he lost. He’s been having a great run and is the best young talent in professional wrestling. After the match, Danielson went to shake his hand and tried to get him to join the Blackpool Combat Club. While Garcia was contemplating what to do, Jericho came out and attacked Danielson. Jericho got into Garcia’s face and the young fighter pushed his hand away. We are going to hear what the future holds for Garcia tonight. I suspect he is going to leave the Jericho Appreciation Society, but not join the Blackpool Combat Club.
Death Triangle, Will Osprey, and Aussie Open are set to compete in their first match in the AEW trios tournament. With two teams already advancing to the semifinals, both teams are looking to punch their ticket to the next round. Both of these teams are known for their hard-hitting in-ring style. This one has a serious chance to steal the show, especially with how talented these six men are. The winner of this match goes on to face the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in the semifinal round. If there’s any match you plan on watching, make it this one. AEW always puts on really good tag team matches and now with this tournament, they have shown they know how to put on high-quality trios matches. This one has all of the ingredients to be the match of the night.
The AEW World Championship is going to get unified on AEW Dynamite. This is a shock to wrestling fans as everyone anticipated the unification match was going to take place at All Out. Nevertheless, fans get a pay-per-view quality match for free on a weekly show. Punk suffered a foot injury back in June and has been out of action since. So, instead of striping the title from him, AEW decided to crown an interim world champion.
Ultimately, Jon Moxley came out on top. It has always been known that once Punk was healthy, he was going to face whoever the interim world champion was and unify the titles. Fans speculated it was going to main event All Out, but they won’t have to wait any longer. CEO of AEW, Tony Khan, stated that they won’t be able to keep Punk and Moxley separated until All Out, so that’s why the match is taking place on Wednesday. I suspect we will still get Punk vs Moxley at All Out, which means this match won’t be going down clean.
