Audric Estime 2024 NFL Draft Profile
We’re grinding through running backs for the 2024 NFL Draft Profile series. Up next is Notre Dame product Audric Estime. How should you feel about Estime as he transitions to the NFL level? Let’s talk about it.
Estime, a four star recruit out of the state of New York, has one major thing going for him. That’s a thick boy. Estime checks in at 5-foot-11, 221, being one of the bigger backs in the entire draft class. The power game will be his calling card. A guy that gets better the more you feed him the ball. A guy that’s really hard to tackle once he gets a head of steam going. Also has some underrated explosion hitting 38 on the vertical at the Combine. He also ripped out a respectable 23 reps on the bench.
The problem is he looks like a fat turd. We’ve seen guys like this enter the league and fail over and over again. Call it Benny Snell mode. I don’t even like Estime as much as I liked Snell, which says a lot. Looks like an old-school full-back born in the wrong era. He’s slow and his play speed is also slow. A 4.71 on the 40 speaks for itself. Terrible foot speed at the Combine.
I’ve seen Estime a bunch during the year. There were games where he was productive and I thought he sucked. There were games where he did nothing and I still think he sucks. Just never going to be interested in these turd running backs. It is what it is.
To give Estime a little credit, he can actually kind of catch the ball. Still, the best case scenario for him is being in a tandem where he can grind out the dirty yards. I just don’t think he fits the NFL at all and likely will never get the touches needed to be that guy who wears on defenses. I wouldn’t draft the guy and might chuckle when someone does depending on the draft price. If I were a team that needed a fullback, that’s probably the only way I’d consider bringing him on the roster to test out that avenue.
I’m not sure what else to tell you. You can either be lied to or I can give you the truth. That’s up to you. If you’re okay with being led down a path of lies that’s on you.
