Daijun Edwards 2024 NFL Draft Profile

It’s time to talk about the man I’ve been calling Taz for the last three years. Where does Daijun Edwards stand among the other running backs in the draft? Let’s review the Daijun Edwards 2024 NFL Draft profile!

Edwards, originally a three star recruit out of the state of Georgia, played meaningful snaps since his freshman season. As a senior, Edwards was given his biggest opportunity and he came through rushing for 881 on 164 attempts (5.4 per carry) and 13 touchdowns. He also added 20 receptions for 197 yards.

The Georgia product checks in at 5-foot-10, 207. The only event he participated in at the Combine was the broad jump (9’6″). He’s a really odd runner. Chains his moves together really well. Not uber quick but has really nice cuts. The pure speed is a bit of a question mark but I don’t think he’s slow. His vision is really good and has a knack for bursting out runs and finding space that others wouldn’t.

He’s a total spaz. Mostly in a good way. Something we’ve talked about during the year on more than one occasion. It’s not hard to see what he brings to the table. Psycho runner that runs hard but has a method to the madness. Had a mostly positive showing at the Senior Bowl and passed the on-field drills at the Combine.

He’s not the most natural pass catcher. Certainly not as good as his former teammate Kenny McIntosh was. Can do it but not an ace in that area. Can thrive in short areas and does a great job dancing around traffic. Solid in pass protection too.

I don’t care what anybody says, Daijun Edwards will become one of the better running backs in this draft class. Have you seen the rest of the competition in the class? I’d be willing to take Edwards in the 4th round but know the rest of the league has him much lower. Can wait and pick my spot when that time comes.
