Jets Expected To Waive Denzel Mims

Scout Trey wins again. I told you that Denzel Mims sucked years ago. The Jets didn’t listen and picked him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Today they suffer the consequences of that choice. It is being reported that the Jets will release Mims unless they somehow find a last second trade partner.

The news was first reported by the New York Post.

“The Jets plan on waiving fourth-year wide receiver Denzel Mims on Wednesday if they are unable to find a trade partner first, according to sources.”

“The Jets have informed Mims they plan on releasing him and excused him from reporting to training camp with the rest of the team Wednesday.”

“If the Jets waive him Wednesday, he can be claimed on Thursday.”

Mims, 25, will end his Jets tenure with 42 receptions for 676 yards and no touchdowns in 30 total games. Imagine using a second round pick on a player that caught zero touchdowns while keeping your job. Somehow that’s Joe Douglas today. I have no idea why or how he’s still employed. Of course, we have documented evidence that Trey wouldn’t have made that mistake.

When football season comes around, make sure you read the stock report series. It might teach you a thing or two. The smart people always knew Denzel Mims stunk. Here is your proof. Don’t worry, the stock report posts will be back when college football season resumes.

Don’t forget the Jets also gave away Elijah Moore for a fraction of the original draft cost too. The Jets’ wide receiver room will likely consist of Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman, and Randall Cobb. I’m sure you can spot two names on that list that Aaron Rodgers may or may not have had something to do with.
