As the newly named Las Vegas Raiders approach the off-season after failing to make the playoffs, they ask themselves: How can we make this team a playoff team? Now, from a football fan’s point of view, this is the additions I believe the Raiders need in order for them to succeed.
Raiders Offseason Needs: #1 Linebackers
This position is easily one of the biggest problems that the Raiders have failed to acquire over the years, after finally landing a very solid linebacker (Vontaze Burfict) they seemed to have a solid defense all in all. That is until he was ejected in Week 4 for an unnecessary hit that eventually led him to an all year suspension. Meaning that after the suspension, Raiders were back to square one, they still need a linebacker. Tahir Whitehead didn’t quite cut it like a linebacker that scares defenses.
Raiders Offseason Needs: #2 Wide Receivers
This season’s Wide Receiver core has been Derek Carr’s worst yet. Before the season, the Raiders were excited and ready to acquire Antonio Brown. That is until he later got released because of his behavior and he had no interest in being with the Raiders. As his whole plan to be with his lover, New England Patriots. As the season progressed Hunter Renfrow definitely made a name for himself, while only starting a few games, he proved that he deserved more playing time.
Raiders Offseason Needs: #3 Defensive Backs
Like Linebackers, the Raiders have always struggled to pick up above average Defensive Backs, but a promising player that’s talents are still very well unknown is Johnathon Abram, who got injured in the first week against the Denver Broncos. But in my opinion, I would readjust and move people to different positions.
