2023 Summer Transfer Window Weekly Update: 07.18

Welcome back to yet another 2023 summer transfer window weekly update!

In this update, we will be looking at the confirmed transfers that happened from July 11 to July 17.

To look at other transfers to have happened earlier in the window, check out our previous transfer window weekly updates.

Now, let’s hop right into last week’s transfers.

Premier League Transfers

After a rather uneventful week with only two confirmed transfers last update, the Premier League had some explosive deals over the past seven days, including Arsenal finally confirming Declan Rice’s move to the club. Expect more fireworks from the Premier League in future updates.

La Liga Transfers

Vitor Roque’s transfer to Barcelona highlights this week’s news out of La Liga. Even though he won’t join the club until 2024, this is still a massive signing for Barcelona.

Girona also had a busy week.

Bundesliga Transfers

Loïs Openda’s move to RB Leipzig headlines the Bundesliga’s transfers from last week. The young Belgian had a breakout year in Ligue 1 last year, and Leipzig will be hoping their record signing can replicate that form in the Bundesliga this season.

Serie A Transfers

Christian Pulisic is finally free from Chelsea! After a difficult time in the Premier League, Captain America is going to get a shot at redemption with AC Milan. Hopefully, he takes advantage of his second chance and becomes the player he showed glimpses of with the Blues.

Ligue 1 Transfers

Renan Lodi’s move from Atlético Madrid to Marseille was Ligue 1’s biggest transfer last week. The Brazilian left-back spent last season on loan with Nottingham Forrest in the Premier League and is now ready to start a new chapter with Marseille.

Saudi Arabia Transfers

Sergej Milinković-Savić is the latest big-name player to move to the Saudi Pro League. He joined Al-Hilal from Lazio in the Serie A.

Other Transfers

Lionel Messi is finally in Miami! MLS side Inter Miami officially presented the Argentine legend as a new player on Sunday. He was joined by former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets who also officially made the move to South Florida this week.

While these transfers have been confirmed for a while, their presentation to the fans officially marked the start of their Inter Miami careers. Expect to see both of these legendary players in Inter Miami’s starting XI very soon.

Elsewhere in the MLS, the New England Revolution and Toronto FC agreed to a player swap that saw Latif Blessing move to Toronto while Mark-Anthony Kaye moved to New England.

In Turkey, attack-minded left-back Angeliño joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig. Dušan Tadić also moved to the Süper Lig, joining Fenerbahçe from Ajax.
