Should Kyle Pitts request a trade away from the Falcons? My question is why shouldn’t he try to get out of Atlanta at this point? (Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports)

Should Kyle Pitts Request A Trade Away From The Falcons?

The short answer is yes. Of course, Kyle Pitts should do this! In fact, is there any reason to argue against it other than be labeled as a diva? The Atlanta Falcons are pathetic and totally lost as a franchise. We must protect Kyle Pitts at all costs before it’s too late.

Should Kyle Pitts request a trade? Again, at this point why shouldn’t he? Let’s run through it because at this point someone needs to start speaking up.

A: We’re not going to forget about the fact that head coach Arthur Smith called his star tight end a “decoy” for the entire season, right?

B: Atlanta just traded for Jonnu Smith. A guy that Arthur Smith had with the Titans during his stint there. What was the point of that? Is Pitts still a decoy so that he can get his guy Jonnu looks?

C: Sorry, not sorry, I’m just not dealing with Desmond Ridder as my quarterback. Not doing it under any circumstance. How is this guy supposed to put up numbers while being doubled the entire game? Not just being double teamed, having a gimmick then try to get you the ball?

D: Speaking of double teams, Atlanta shipped Calvin Ridley out of town. There is no deep threat to take the top off. Drake London is a contested catch guy that teams don’t really need to worry about. Take Pitts out of the game and you win. My question is why should he have to put up with it?

The bottom line is Pitts is running out of time. We’re heading into year three of this thing and he’s obviously going to want a top five tight end contract soon. Something the Falcons may try to fight when his lack of production, in reality, is their fault.

Protect Kyle Pitts at all costs. Get this man out of Atlanta before it’s too late.

Here is an idea. Pitts to Cincinnati for their first round pick. Who says no? How fun would that be?
