WWE SummerSlam Match Postponed Due to Injury
WWE SummerSlam is the second biggest show of the year for the company. It is usually packed full of dream matches, with a lot at stake. This year’s SummerSlam is taking place on July 30 in Nashville, Tenn. The SummerSlam match card is quite promising and is filled with loads of matches that have the potential to be really good. On Wednesday, WWE announced on The Bump, that a match has to be postponed.
Seth Rollins was set to face off against Riddle at SummerSlam, but the match is now being postponed after Riddle received an injury at the hands of Rollins. Rollins and Riddle have been going at it over the past month. Rollins has been targeting Riddle and attacking him when he least expects it. He attacked Riddle on Monday Night Raw, a few days prior to when they are set to fight. Rollins hit Riddle with his signature curb stop, but this time it was on steel stairs.
Riddle Suffers Injury
WWE announced that Riddle suffered a brachial plexus injury, otherwise known as a stinger. The injury results in weakness, which is why the match is postponed until Riddle is at full strength.
With injuries in professional wrestling, you never quite know if they are real or not. Fightful Select reported that the injury is kayfabe and the match was actually postponed due to “creative adjustments.” The match is still said to take place down the line at Clash at the Castle. With how often plans are changed in professional wrestling, there is no guarantee when this match is actually going to take place.
It is unclear as of right now if Rollins will still compete at SummerSlam. He is expected to travel to Nashville for SummerSlam weekend because of media responsibilities. Hopefully, we still get to see Rollins in action at SummerSlam. His match with Riddle was one of the ones I was looking forward to and had the potential to steal the show.
