Call of Duty is one the biggest video game titles of all time, but they are in serious trouble because of the state of their free-to-play battle royale game. NickMercs, the uber-popular Twitch streamer has seemingly quit Warzone for good and this is probably for a few different reasons.
Since I started writing for Vendetta way back in the day (it was only January), the biggest issue with Call of Duty: Warzone was their flat-out refusal to put in a good anti-cheat to deter cheaters from ruining games. I am not the only person here who has written about this issue, it is a big deal.
For the first time in what seems like forever there are other games that are playable at the moment. Nick has chosen Apex as his new battle royale of choice to stream, but other FPS (first-person shooters) like Splitgate have been extremely popular amongst gamers.
NickMercs talked about it in a YouTube upload and made it pretty clear he was going to change his content to focus primarily around Apex.
“Today is a serious video. A lot of you guys are probably not going to like it, some of you might, either way. I got to be honest, I don’t care so much. I got to do what’s best for me, have some fun. If I don’t have fun [it’s not my best me].”

At the end of the day he really shouldn’t care, the man is so popular and big now he is signing exclusive deals with Under Armour and is an official partner of the Barstool Sportsbook. He has built his brand bigger than one video game and he is going to use it.
