The Los Angeles Lakers completely changed their fortune at the trade deadline last season. They won 17 of their final 26 games and downed the Minnesota Timberwolves in their first play-in game.
The Lakers, the No. 7 seed, advanced past the banged-up Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors in six games apiece before getting swept by the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. Los Angeles kept the majority of their impending free agents while adding fresh blood, including Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince and Jaxson Hayes, to their already promising core.
