Troy Terry > Trevor Zegras
Troy Terry has done nothing — and he didn’t have to do anything. His teammate Trevor Zegras may have pulled off one of the worst chirps in a long time. Completely has no place in the game to go after dead parents. Meanwhile, Terry keeps himself quiet and lets his game do the talking. Zegras has a lot to learn from him if he wants to get some respect back.
Some may say I’m too hard on Zegras. Fair enough. But if you lost a loved one, how would you feel if someone tried to get under your skin using that? Obviously, he likes to talk on social media and be a pretty big presence. But Terry is doing it right.
He’s gone through some lean years in Anaheim. Now, he’s starting to reap some rewards. If I’m him, I would just keep my head down and keep working.

Both Terry and Zegras have 42 points in 50 games this season. But Terry had one of the quietest breakout seasons in 2021-22. The Denver native potted 37 goals and 67 points in 75 games last year. Zegras put up 61 points on a worse plus/minus rating.
I get the guy is younger and may have more upside but give me Terry any day. He can play down the middle or on the wing. He plays a more physical brand of hockey than Zegras. And most obviously, he is a better teammate. You won’t see him making headlines for disrespecting an opposing player like this.
The Ducks and Coyotes are division rivals. Both are at the bottom of the standings. Regardless, I can understand why there’s some tension. Still, Zegras took it a step or two too far. It was a 1-1 game for more than an entire period. In any case, you can’t let your emotions get the best of you. Why go there with Troy Stecher?
Guys across the league will target Terry and Zegras for their talent. You can tell that one guy has a better approach to it than another.
