Trevor Zegras Should Be Ashamed

If true, Trevor Zegras pulled off one of the scummiest moves I have seen in the NHL in a long time. Something like this is irresponsible and just plain wrong.

When chirping other players, there’s some lines you can’t cross. Sure, you can say someone sucks at hockey or that their team is terrible. But you simply can’t bring another man’s family into it. I would cut Zegras today if this is actually true:

That is just despicable. Sure, he may have scored the overtime winner yesterday against the Coyotes, but chirping a guy’s dead father? You can’t do that. No ifs ands or buts, full stop.

If I’m anyone who works for the Ducks, I want answers. I would have no problem running his contract out. There is just a certain level of professionalism that the NHL demands.

I get why the NHL loves Zegras. He’s a young face who is easy to market and put on commercials. But come on people, there has to be some form of accountability. Things like this cannot be taken too far. And if true, this is way too far. You really want a diva like him making headlines for all the wrong reasons?

Do Better Trevor

I am all about letting talent play in the NHL. Zegras is clearly very talented. His play style has drawn criticism in the past, but this is taking it to the next level. You can’t make personal chirps like this. Bringing off the ice stuff, especially as tough as losing a parent, is one of the lowest lows out there.

Make sure to mark your calendars for April 8, because the next time Anaheim and Arizona play each other, there will be fireworks. The worst part is, the Coyotes deserved to win. Connor Ingram put together a great game. Unfortunately, the guys in front of him couldn’t execute. However, I am sure that there will be some extra fire burning when they meet again.
