Trey Amos 2025 NFL Draft Profile

We’re going to start hitting some of these DBs for the 2025 NFL Draft profile series, and Trey Amos is secretly one of my favorites in this class. All of the nooks and crannies you need to know about the Ole Miss corner are coming in hot.

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 6Week 11Gator Bowl, Senior Bowl (1), (2)

Amos, 23, was a three start prospect coming out of high school. Although that doesn’t come close to telling the full story of the New Iberia, Louisiana, native. Amos played three years for the Ragin Cajuns, then Alabama for Nick Saban’s last year, then finished with the Rebels of Ole Miss.

He clearly started to make a name for himself in the Selt Belt Conference. It’s why Saban wanted him. The last two years, Amos has been firmly on my radar. I thought he was awesome for Alabama and really turned another corner this past year. This past year for Ole Miss, Amos notched three picks and 13 pass breakups en route to a First-team All-SEC selection.

At the Combine, Amos checked in at 6-foot-1, 195, with over 31 inch arms. He’s a legitimate press corner with plus length. I used him as the cover image for the cornerback article for a reason. If I wasn’t 100% sure about Amos prior to that event, I left it being confident in what I’m getting here. His pure movement skills in all of the things I look for in terms of knee bend were all there. Oh, and add in 4.43 speed and he even had the stones to rip out 13 on the bench.

The foot speed is there in short area. Has some twitch and can get to the spot without getting hit with quicksand. He allowed a 54.5 passer rating against in coverage and under 19% completion rate on throws 20 yards down the field or more. In general, that completion percentage allowed number was just 51% while playing big boys in the SEC. The guy doesn’t get beat over the top and has self awareness on how to attack the ball without being too handsy. He’s a real outside corner and never really took snaps inside at the slot to be hidden.

I’m quite fond of Trey Amos. He’s a second round type of guy for me with a really good chance to develop into a starting caliber player. I want this guy in my secondary and he will probably rank higher on my cornerback list than most people will have him listed.
