Trevor Bauer is Overrated

For some reason Trevor Bauer was offered a $102 million dollar contract by the Dodgers, but he is the most overrated pitcher in the entire league.

Bauer’s contract makes him the highest-paid pitcher in all of baseball. but he is nowhere near deserving of making more money than Jacob deGrom. His career ERA is barely shy of 4.00 and his record is not even 10 games over .500.

In six seasons in the league, he has started over 25 games, and only once has he posted a season with an ERA under 4.00. That came in 2018 with the Cleveland Indians and his earned run average was 2.21.

His best campaign came in the 2020 shortened season with the Cincinnati Reds. He won the CY Young, but it was a fluke season and he only pitched in 11 games.

Postseason

When the games mean extra in October, Bauer hasn’t always been up for the moment. In the 2016 World Series, he was with the Cleveland Indians and posted an 0-2 record vs the Chicago Cubs. In his two starts, he only pitched 8.1 innings, but still managed to give up 12 hits and allowed five earned runs.

In 2018 while still with the Indians, he appeared in three games in the ALDS against the Houston Astros. In four innings in the series, he gave up seven hits and three earned runs

The Rest

Trevor Bauer just isn’t worth the headache. Between his social media antics, and pitching with one eye closed, the guy is just a walking nightmare for teams he is apart of.

His idea of marketing himself is just taunting fans of teams he may have signed with. I mean, the guy had to apologize to Mets fans because he was doing a giveaway of a signed Mets hat.
