Tahj Washington 2024 NFL Draft Profile

I did the profile on Brenden Rice earlier today. Now we’re talking about the other USC wide receiver heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. Let’s talk about everything and anything relating to Tahj Washington. Here is your 2024 NFL Draft Profile on the former Trojans wide out!

Don’t ask me why this guy wasn’t invited to the Senior Bowl. L move by that loser Jim Nagy (yes, he’s a loser). Instead, Washington lit up the East-West Game and was clearly the best wide receiver there. I’ve been on Washington all year. He beasted and feasted during the Bowl Game without Caleb Williams. Had a great game against Colorado for what it’s worth too.

Small. That’s really the thing holding Washington back. Checks in at 5-foot-10, 174, but has a small catch radius with 29 inch arms. He’s a pure slot receiver and will have to be used that way at the NFL level. He didn’t run at the Combine, which really hurts his stock, but he was good during the field drills. Runs good routes and play speed hasn’t been an issue for him.

Started out his career at Memphis. Spent two years there. Was productive during his final season at Memphis notching 43 receptions for 743 yards and six touchdowns. Got better and better during his time with the Trojans. Hit his stride as a redshirt senior averaging 18 yards per catch reeling in 59 receptions going over 1,000 yards and scoring eight touchdowns. Former three star guy out of the state of Texas

You just always have to be skeptical with guys this size. It’s not exactly a lengthy list of players that succeed that are small for the wide receiver position. Especially ones that don’t bring blazing speed to the table.

I like Tahj Washington. I think he has potential to be an effective slot receiver at the NFL level. He would be on my radar in the 6th and 7th round. Potentially as an undrafted guy too. He did good things at USC and I don’t think it can totally be ignored. Just have to know what you’re working with here.
