This was one year ago today. I guess a lot of things can change in a year. The Steelers have announced that they are releasing Mitch Trubisky. It would in fact appear that the Pittsburgh organization might finally be crawling out of the Looney Tunes land that they have been living in recently.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news:
The press release the Steelers released mostly includes an excerpt about his stats with the team.
“The team released punter Pressley Harvin III, offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor and quarterback Mitch Trubisky. “
“Trubisky signed with the Steelers as an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2022 season. He played in a total of 12 games, starting seven, during his two seasons in the black and gold. Trubisky completed 184 of 287 pass attempts, 64.1 percent, for 1,884 yards and eight touchdowns. He added 92 yards rushing on 35 carries, 2.6 average and four touchdowns.”
I don’t know what you want me to say. I’ve told you the guy has sucked forever. It’s embarrassing the way the entire NFL universe has handled this entire thing. The Chicago Tribune is a joke. In more ways than one. The fact that one team didn’t call me after this whole thing just continues to prove the league is more interested in guarding their desks than they are about winning. It’s the sad reality of the world we live in.
This entire Trubisky thing has been a joke since day one. The longer it took you to figure it out the more you should be concerned about how much you actually know about football. That’s the truth.
