Shedeur Sanders Thinks He’s Better Than Every Quarterback In The 2024 NFL Draft

On paper, the 2024 NFL Draft appears to be a loaded class at the quarterback position. You have the likes of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Michael Penix, and JJ McCarthy who could all be selected in the first round. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders just happens to think he’s better than all of them.

VIA Sports Illustrated:

“I’m biased, but I don’t see a quarterback that’s better than me,” Sanders told SI on Friday. “I don’t see a quarterback that went through as much adversity as me, that had four [offensive coordinators] in four years.

“Coming from an HBCU, coming to a Power Five [school], having real pressure on me. A lot of people don’t understand, that’s a lot more adversity than you think just even being the son of Deion Sanders.”

Side note: good to see Sports Illustrated is still producing content! You know, after it was reported they were basically dead.

If you read the stock report notes this year, then you already know I’m a fan of Shedeur. To put up a 27-3 TD to INT ratio while completing over 69% of your throws in your first year as a starter? That’s damn good to me. Colorado also won one game the season before Sanders got there and their offensive line was totally brutal.

Colorado should also be better this year. Pat Shurmur is the new play caller and five-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton is coming to town. If Shedeur can take another step forward in 2024, maybe he will be the first pick in 2025.

Food for thought on this one but not too long ago Shedeur said that he didn’t want to be second to Caleb Williams. Being the first pick in the draft sounds like an important goal for him. Something that just wouldn’t have happened with Williams in the class this year.
