The soccer transfer market has been a wild ride this year. Some players are keeping their June 30 deadline and others extending to the end of the 2019-20 season. Manchester City’s Leroy Sane will move to Bayern Munich.
City’s left winger will move to Munich on a £55 million deal. The contract would be for five years to take the player to the age of 29.
Pep Guardiola seems to be saddened by the move of his player. However, he has wished him the best at Munich.
“Looks like, if not already done… There are still some little issues. Wish him all the best on his new chapter,” Guardiola said at the press conference ahead of City’s clash against Liverpool on Thursday.
“He will have another chapter at a fantastic club in Bayern Munich. He wanted to leave. Everyone has their own life and he decided to move on. I would have loved for him to stay but he believed he would be better and happier there.”
Sane might be right with a little less competition for a spot on the starting XI at Munich. At City Sane always had to compete with Sterling, Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne. With Munich, Sane can compete with Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller. On wing, Sane can compete with Joshua Kimmich. Philippe Coutinho might be on his way out, making it easier for Sane. Munich’s typical 4-3-2-1 formation will make it easy for Sane to be on the starting XI. Bundesliga also helps Sane with playing with other German players that could help the national team.
In Premier League, Sane was able to get 25 games and 31 assists in 90 appearances. At Bundesliga, he was able to get 11 goals and seven assists in 47 appearances.
Although Munich won the Bundesliga title this year with Sane, he will still be a great addition to the team.
