Ryan Poles Must’ve Really Hated Justin Fields

Imagine you are an NFL GM for just a second, will you? You have a super athletic Quarterback on your team who is young and on his rookie contract, meaning he’s fairly cheap. Wouldn’t you want to surround him with as much talent as you can in order to help him develop? Well, in the case of Ryan Poles with Justin Fields, the simple answer would be no. We all know that Poles is an idiot, but I am convinced that he hated Fields’ guts, and I have a few reasons why.

First off, have you seen the off-season for the Chicago Bears? I would argue that they have done a fairly good job bringing in talent! Signing D’Andre Swift very early in free agency, bringing in Keenan Allen coming off one of the better years of his career, and addressing the offensive line even! These are all great moves that would not only help the team as a whole but help a young QB as well.

It’s just too bad that all these moves are to make life as easy as possible for FUTURE Bears QB Caleb Williams. Why couldn’t Ryan Poles ever do this for Justin Fields? I mean, he tried with the disastrous Chase Claypool trade, and we all saw how well that worked out. DJ Moore was too little, too late for Fields, so I don’t want to hear it. If Poles had been this aggressive bringing in talent for Fields, I think his future might have looked a little different.

Also, can we talk about how Justin Fields brought in a WORSE trade package than KENNY MF PICKETT?! Pickett is probably the 41st-best QB in the NFL, and he still got Pittsburgh a third and two sevenths. What did Ryan Poles get for a much better, higher-upside QB? A SIXTH in NEXT YEAR’S DRAFT. He tanked the value of Fields the longer he let him sit as the QBs started flying off the board in free agency.

Ryan Poles is a complete dope, and we at Vendetta understand he should’ve been fired long ago. But I feel it is worth mentioning that he must’ve hated the guts of Justin Fields because he did him so dirty during his time in Chicago. The situation is so much better for the incoming Willaims, but it does make you wonder if Fields had a team like this, what his NFL career would look like.
