RJ Harvey 2025 NFL Draft Profile

I’m genuinely excited to talk about this one. While this running back class is loaded, RJ Harvey just might be one of the hidden gems when you look back on this thing a few years from now. We’re going over all of the nooks and crannies when it comes to the UCF tailback. Without further ado, here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on the UCF running back!

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 1Week 3Week 5Week 8, Senior Bowl (1), (2), (3), Game

Harvey, 24, was a three star prospect out of the state of Florida during the 2019 cycle. He was actually listed as a duel threat quarterback and has only been playing running back for a short period of time. Harvey spent his entire college career with UCF minus the year at Virginia when he redshirted and quickly realized quarterback wasn’t going to be the path for him.

There is no question that Harvey checks the production box. 2019 was spent at Virginia, still doing quarterback things while never seeing the field. In 2020, he was a backup and didn’t really sniff playing time. Then, 2021 comes around and he misses the entire season via injury. The rest is where we get to the exciting part.

The 2022 season, Harvey started to put himself on my radar when he rushed for 796 yards and five scores at a 6.7 YPC clip. The next year, he was really that dude rushing for 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns on 226 carries. He somehow took things to another level this past year finishing off with 1,577 yards at a 6.8 YPC clip and 22 rushing touchdowns. Oh, and add in 720 receiving yards and five scores over the last three years too.

Sure, Harvey is at an advanced age, but this dude legit carried UCF this year. They lose at least four-five more games without him, and that’s not hyperbole. You can see the stock notes at the top for yourself. The TCU game was legit insane, and this dude went full Greg Jennings broken leg mode meme carrying the team on his back.

Harvey checks the movement skills box too big time. He’s very compact and low-cut. Always seems to play with good pad level and just has that burst you can’t teach. I thought he was fantastic during all of the predraft stuff. The Senior Bowl, he was money, and ditto for the Combine. 4.40 speed will work for me while showing off some great pass catching ability. He checks in at 5-foot-8, 205, had great leaping numbers, and ripped out 16 on the bench press too.

Yes, the Gus Malzahn offense is goofy, but I never felt like he was ripping off big plays because of it. The data backs that up. Harvey ranked 2nd in the class with 32 runs of 15+ yards. He also averaged 3.88 yards after contact this past year, which is a really good mark.

This is a player I really like. I have a feeling that I like him far more than most. I just think Harvey fits the current NFL game and, despite being at an advanced age, has a skillset that should result in being an impact contributor at the next level.

Comp = Poor Man’s Brian Westbrook. When I say poor, I mean poor but still quality (if that makes sense).
