The Vegas Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup and I was in the building when it happened. Oh, and I pummeled the SinBin Vegas media outlet that I trash-talked during the offseason. Reviewing the SinBin Vegas post ten months later is going to make you giggle. I promise you that.
A: They said trading for Matthew Tkachuk was a bad idea. It’s so funny how it turned out, huh? I said literally the exact opposite thing. Of course, Vegas won without Tkachuk but I don’t think there is any doubt that landing Tkachuk was the right thing to do for any team that acquired him. We know what happened with the Panthers. Tkachuk posted 109 points in 79 games and carried an incredibly flawed Panthers team to the Stanley Cup Finals. Imagine how good this VGK team would have been had they landed Tkachuk.
Maybe things worked out for a reason and that this is how the story had to be written. Regardless, what an absolutely embarrassing take to suggest any team shouldn’t have tried to land this guy. If you actually read that post, the way they talked about him is even more embarrassing.
B: They picked the Knights to be an 8-seed and first-round playoff exit. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t have Vegas winning the Stanley Cup but I certainly thought they were very much in the mix. How could you not? As long as Mark Stone is healthy, this team has always been dominant. The Vegas collapse happened a year ago after Stone went down.
What exactly happened this offseason to where you wouldn’t believe in this team? The Knights got a head coaching upgrade with Bruce Cassidy. I’ve been pumping his tires all year and you were just foolish to not understand that he would make an enormous difference.
When you have the best blue line in the sport you always have a chance. With a full year of healthy Eichel and the addition of Cassidy’s system, they always had a chance to be in this spot. Ranking them 8th in the West barely ahead of Vancouver was disrespectful.
C: They picked the team to finish 8th and then said not to make any additions to the roster. Something that was just insane at the time after the team had lost Robin Lehner. After Lehner went down, it was imperative that Vegas went and got another goalie. I had immense confidence that Logan Thompson would perform but they still needed more help. Just remember, these idiots were against the Adin Hill trade. The Knights probably wouldn’t be here without that trade. One of the trade ideas I listed was for James Reimer. Turns out Vegas went for a different Sharks goalie and it worked out.
D: Anybody, and I mean anybody, that defended Max Pacioretty for the way he acted on his way out the door should be slapped in the face. The Knights never needed that bum and they were always better off without him. Pacioretty is a total scumbag and this is the way every Vegas fan should have felt following his ignorant comments.
We know how the story turned out. Glass man tore his Achilles twice and the Knights won the Stanley Cup. Talk about karma…
Just remember, these idiots defended that ignorant prick.

Side note: Once again I find it so comical that I can be 99% on the mark and miss the smallest of details. I was harsh on Keegan Kolesar (something I just talked about) and I’m sorry for that. It still doesn’t change the fact that I own those punks forever and will happily debate them to put them officially in their grave whenever they want. If they have the balls to do so.
