After dealing a second round pick to acquire the former Bears linebacker, Baltimore made sure to keep Smith in purple for the foreseeable future. Keeping Smith was imperative as he has made a huge impact on Patrick Queen as well. When Queen is your number two linebacker, you’re pretty strong in the middle of your defense.
Smith, 25, becomes the first $100 million linebacker in NFL history. $45 million of which will be guaranteed. Smith’s 169 total tackles ranked third in the NFL and is now in the process of clinching his first Pro Bowl appearance as well. The trade continues to look better and better.
