OMG! Just when you thought the Rams were doing something crazy giving up Marcus Peters, well, it all makes sense now. The Los Angeles Rams will now be closing in on their third trade of the day. The Rams have struck a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire Jalen Ramsey for a bevy of draft picks. Jacksonville will receive two first round picks and a 4th round pick.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news:
Ramsey ultimately gets his wish. He missed multiple games with a back injury and being out to witness the birth of a child. Now he finds his way on a team that just went to the Super Bowl. While Jared Goff may suck, the Rams are very much in the mix in a tough NFC. In a day that saw Aqib Talib get put on IR and Marcus Peters get dealt, the Rams feel like winners today. Ramsey is the best cornerback in football and he’s heading to LA.
In conclusion, the Rams trade for Austin Corbett, Kenny Young, and Jalen Ramsey. They will give up a boatload of draft picks for Ramsey but did collect one for Peters. You have to feel like the Rams are a better team today. After falling to the 49ers this past week, this is the type of move that could get them right back in it.
Jacksonville had to trade him. This felt like Ramsey was never putting on that uniform again. The Rams picks are probably good ones to collect. With Goff on a big extension, they’re going to struggle to keep their pieces in place. Speaking of Goff, he’s terrible and LA sits in 3rd place. The Rams could be in trouble if Todd Gurley continues to sit. This pick could fall in the teens somewhere and Jacksonville may have targeted the right team to get the best picks possible.
