It turns out the Raiders have a plan. It just so happens to be Chickster’s worst nightmare. We know that Mark Davis hates Derek Carr and wanted him out of the building ASAP. It turns out that his plan is to replace him with the GOAT, Tom Brady.
A story by the Las Vegas Review-Journal states that the Raiders’ plan A is to replace Carr with Tom Brady. If the Raiders are unable to reel in Brady, Jimmy Garoppolo is their plan B. Of course, head coach Josh McDaniels coached both during his time with the Patriots. It would be a Patriots reunion of sorts. If you needed more evidence of this, consider the fact that Jarrett Stidham, another former Patriot, is the backup quarterback.
The story even goes as far to say that the Raiders are willing to flat out cut Carr if they have to. Landing Brady is their top priority this offseason.
Brady, 46 in August by the time next season starts, clearly wants to keep playing football. Otherwise, he would still be married. It hasn’t been a vintage Brady season but he’s helped lead Tampa back to the postseason and sports a 24-9 TD to INT ratio. There is still some tread left on the tires.
Once upon a time, Brady wanted to join the Raiders before. Brady even had some harsh words for Carr in an episode of The Shop. Given the familiarity of McDaniels, the Raiders can’t be ruled out this time around. Having Davante Adams on the roster also helps their case to potentially recruit Brady to Las Vegas.
