Does Davante Adams want to be a Las Vegas Raider?
Davante Adams and Derek Carr have been great friends since their time as teammates at Fresno State. Carr played a key part in bringing Adams to Las Vegas last summer so they could reunite and play together again.
Now, with Carr being benched and his days being numbered in Vegas, questions rightly started to circulate if Adams still wanted to play in the black and silver. His answer might surprise you.
“I wouldn’t have ended up here originally if Derek wasn’t here, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I won’t be here in the event that he’s not here,” Adams said. “That’s my boy, I’ve got his back through everything, I think I’ve made that more than clear at this point and I support him in everything moving forward.”
Adams grew up an Oakland Raiders fan, so wanting to stay with the team and make it work is a no-brainer.
“My dream was to play for this team before he was a Raider, obviously, and at this point I want to try to make this thing work and continue doing what I’m doing here,” Adams said.
Derek Carr and Davante Adams had great chemistry this year with Adams hauling in 95 receptions for a franchise record 1,443 receiving yards along with 14 touchdowns.
With Carr likely gone in Vegas, it will be interesting to see who they bring in to replace him, and how this affects Adams’ stats. He played well with backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham, going for seven catches, 219 yards, and two touchdowns in a back-and-forth battle with the San Francisco 49ers on New Year’s Day.
