It had to be done. A couple of days after firing Antonio Pierce, the Raiders are also canning their general manager too. Las Vegas has fired GM Tom Telesco.
The Raiders team account was the first to report the news. They put out this little statement to address the firing of Telesco.
It had to be done. The Raiders went 4-13 this year and everything Telesco touched pretty much turned to poo. I know what Raiders fans will say.
“They fired the guy who drafted Brock Bowers”?
That’s fine. You can have that take. As long as you’re willing to acknowledge that’s not who they wanted to take. They needed Atlanta to act re re and snipe Michael Penix in front of them. That’s who they really wanted to draft. If you look at the rest of his 2024 NFL Draft class, it’s a lot of trash. Everything I said in the draft grades I put out has aged like fine wine.
The Raiders spent way too much money on Gardner Minshew and put together one of the worst rosters in the NFL. I’m going to say it again. Hiring Telesco, in the first place, was a slap in the face to the memory of Al Davis. I’m glad they did the right thing and fired Telesco because they were never going to turn this thing around with him on board. That much is obvious.
Have you seen what’s happened to the Chargers since Joe Hortiz and Jim Harbaugh took over? It’s not an accident…
