PSG Forward Kolo Muani To Join Juventus On Loan

PSG and French international Randal Kolo Muani is set to join Serie A side Juventus on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Despite Tottenham making a late bid for the Frenchmen, Kolo Muani has already accepted the Juventus proposal and will travel to Turin this week for his medical tests.

After moving to PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for €95 million ($102.6m), expectations were very high for the now 26-year-old, especially following his performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

However, it has been a challenging past 18 months for Kolo Muani. After playing in 10 Ligue 1 and four Champions League matches, in which he has only scored two goals and provided one assist, PSG manager Luis Enrique has deemed him surplus to requirements. He has left Kolo Muani out of the last two matchday squads and is set to also leave him out of his side’s French Cup matchup with Espaly on Wednesday.

The recent move to sign Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also signals Enrique’s intent to move forward without Kolo Muani in his first-team plans, at least in the short term.

This loan deal to Juventus is a good move for both parties. Kolo Muani will have a good opportunity to win a consistent starting spot in a Juventus attack that could use some extra attacking firepower, and this will give him the platform to perform and find a permanent transfer this summer.

For Juventus, Kolo Muani will get an exciting attacking player who can use his speed and technical ability to blow by defenders and create goalscoring chances. He creates 3.01 shooting chances a game, a good amount compared to other forwards, and is capable of putting his teammates in goalscoring situations as well.

Juventus are also set to sign Portuguese fullback Alberto Costa from Vitória de Guimarães for a fee of €15 million ($15.4m) as manager Thiago Motta looks to bolster his side heading into the second half of the season.
