NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 2Week 4Week 5Week 8Week 14, Senior Bowl (1), (2), (3), Game

Look, the guy sucked this year. I don’t know what you want me to tell you. Feel free to all the notes above ^. It was one of the worst Combine performances I’ve ever seen in my life. He didn’t look like trash at the Combine. He looked like a piece of trash that didn’t care about being a piece of trash, and that’s just so much worse. I said plenty in my Combine losers post about how I feel about this player.

The one thing the guy has going for him is the fact that he checks in at 6-foot-1, 226 with real size. I’m just not sure how much it matters when we saw the guy get bullied at the Senior Bowl. We’re talking multiple linebackers pancaking him in pass pro drills. I think a lot of that comes with being too high and losing leverage. In general, the guy runs way too upright and doesn’t pass the smell test in the pure knee bend department.

Gordon, 21, was a former three star prospect coming out of the state of Texas. Everything about him athletically screams former three star. Even when Gordon was productive (was being the keyword), it wasn’t because he was some freak athlete. A 4.61 time at the 40 is pretty much who he is. Slow combined with a lack of explosion in the short area game.

I have no problem giving you the positives. It’s not like there are zero. We’ve seen him handle a big workload. We’re talking about a guy who can actually catch the ball and that’s not always the case for guys his size. He doesn’t really screw around and more often than not hits the hole and picks up his yardage. Opposite of the Najee Harris gotta screw around to go nowhere thing. Oh, and the part where maybe history just repeats itself and he’s going to do the Chuba Hubbard thing of really good for one season, become totally irrelevant and suck, also suck for awhile at the NFL level, then figure it out and become a pretty good NFL back. Maybe that’s on the table.

I have an undrafted grade on Ollie Gordon. I’d take at least 20 different running backs in this class ahead of him. Between the DUI, sucking on the field, also sucking at the Senior Bowl, and making me want to vomit at the Combine… I physically can’t name a single positive thing he’s done over the last calendar year to warrant anyone feeling otherwise.
